HARRASMENT IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT OF KASHMIR 🧵 ▪︎ I used to alwayz hear that some Men harrass Women in Public Transport. ▪︎ I used to think it is all drama created by some Feminists to gain Sympathy. ▪︎ But today what happened : it changed my perspective completely ! ▪︎ Today I travelled through Smart City Bus ( Red Bus ) from City Mall to Iqbal Park around 3pm. ▪︎ The Bus was occupied by few people when I entered into it near City Mall MA Road . ▪︎ When it reached near Women's College : around 30 female students also enter. ▪︎ At that time I thought " Yaar ismai tou Overload huva ab " ! ▪︎ But I was unaware that it is just a Trailer. ▪︎ When the Bus stopped at Jahangeer Chowk : Around 50 more passengers enter and literally I felt numb . ▪︎ I wasn't able to move my head and I gradually feel Suffocation at its peak. ▪︎ The Bus was extremely Overloaded. ▪︎ A girl student was just infront of me proably from SP COLLEGE Bcz she was wearing a Beige Kurta. ▪︎ A Man around 40 years old wearing Coat Pant and Tie : Clean Shaved was behind her. ▪︎ At one point : I felt that he was touching her back deliberately : but I wasn't able to confirm due to extreme Overload. ▪︎ Then He was continuously pushing her from behind : still I was not able to decide. ▪︎ When he realized that the girl is not responding : he started to accelerate his acts. ▪︎ Near Iqbal Park : A passenger told the driver to stop : due to which the bus Jerks and he touched her Chest without any fear . ▪︎ At that point , I lost my mind and loose my control on my senses. ▪︎ I slapped the Man 3-4 times hard on his head and face and literally abused him infront of everyone . ▪︎ The girl also supported me and started to weep : Then everybody took a stand and he was removed from the bus. ▪︎ I scolded everyone especially Men in the bus that " Why are you entering into these overloaded buses ? You are paying the same as you were paying in Sumo / Tavera/ Metador/ Autos. ▪︎ I told them on their faces that " Do you have daughters or Sisters in your home ? I think you don't ! I think you guyz deliberately take these buses for these acts " . ▪︎ I left the bus after my speech and the girl did the same. ▪︎ She was literally in a trauma and weeping and I didn't feel good to leave her alone . ▪︎ Luckily she was from my neighbouring City. ▪︎ Then I booked a Cab and dropped her to home. LEARNING FROM THE INCIDENT : ▪︎ Girls should not travel into Overloaded transport. ▪︎ It is never safe for them : bcz predators are everywhere in search of their host. ▪︎ Men should Avoid travelling in these Smart buses due to multiple reasons : 1. We are not having any benefit while travelling in them. 2. We should ourselves avoid these overloaded buses bcz they are alwayz overloaded bcz of free service to women. 3. It will also help the Local Transporters to grow. ▪︎ Administration should also make some strict guidelines for these Red buses like they should not overload , they should not take Men in Overload bus , Women should be preferred most and at all stops. ▪︎ Lastly : I want to portray to my Parents of KASHMIR Valley that Kindly educate your Daughters as well as your sons about : 1. Haya 2. Ghayrah ( Gairat ) 3. Respect to Women 4. Ettiquetes in Public 5. Taking their Stands 6. Speaking out 7. Confidence 8. Bravery 9. The Line btw Teacher and Student 10.
