The malicious voter’s intentions with the drained BONK may not become clear for days. But it isn’t keeping the BONK it bought for the heist. Just over an hour after draining the original BONK treasury the voter began liquidating $5.3 million in purchased BONK.

This multisig wallet is controlled by BONK 2.0: a new BONK DAO created by the malicious voter to govern the heisted $19.5 million. This BONK DAO is controlled by three entities: the malicious voter, the exploiter wallet, and a third wallet with financial ties to the voter wallet.

BONK DAO’s $20 million loss saw the attacker put millions of dollars on the line. Our investigation maps out the financial coordination behind today’s governance attack, from the days-long BONK spree that preceded it to the liquidation rush that followed. 🧵

OFAC updated its sanctions against ISIS-K, adding 134 cryptocurrency wallets (131 TRON, 3 Monero) as identifiers. In a separate enforcement action, OFAC targeted individuals linked to the Latin American criminal group PCC for laundering illicit proceeds via crypto. Crypto stolen in the alleged $13.7 million hack of Grinex are moving. We’re tracking stolen funds as they flow through mixers and cross-chain bridges, with cash-out points at a mainstream exchange. This complicates recovery for the exchange’s users. But is it a hacker or an insider laundering the funds? Two months ago, Grinex (successor to Russian exchange Garantex) claimed it was hacked by “foreign intelligence services.” But on-chain evidence pointed to a possible inside job. For one, the alleged hacker swapped exfiltrated stablecoins for Tron (TRX) on a decentralized exchange that Garantex once favored. Most of the funds are still being held as balances on private wallets. Grinex claims on its website that it will compensate its customers for stolen assets — will these users get their funds back, or have they fallen victim to an exit scam?
