@screamscape From where I am sitting and what I am seeing (if accurate) this is going to turn into another Texas Giant situation. Rider proportions did not allow safety device to properly secure.

@screamscape According to some Twitter threads there’s video showing the restraint was not properly in-place, combine that with the seats tilting forward during drop. But the video shows more than that; needless to say, I will not be seeking it.

@screamscape If picture that I saw of the individual involved is accurate looks to be of larger build with broad shoulders. If harness locked properly may have been in maximum allowed position. Truly tragic.

@BuschGardens Kumba is the coaster that really set FL on the coaster map. Iconic and historic!! Hope it's around for a long time to come!

@screamscape Montu a more visible icon for the park so between the two more likely to be considered for the Hulk/Nemeis treatment IMHO. Will miss Kumba greatly if it goes though.

You make a good point, though Alpengeist and the BGW coasters don't have as high as ridership numbers at the BGT coasters do, due to year-round operations. HOWEVER, keep in mind that Montu is only 3 years younger than Kumba and could be the next to fall.

Perhaps nothing exemplifies the shift at FL springs from places of healing to recreational resources more than diving towers. The only diving platform still in existence at a Florida spring today that I can recall is at Wakulla. #FloridasHealingWaters #findingthefountainofyouth
