Thanks for being part of the journey 🥳 This week's quantum term: decoherence - /ˌdiː.kəˈhɪr.əns/ ⚛️ Definition → is the process in which a system in a quantum state collapses into a nonquantum state. Generally speaking, quantum computing requires avoiding and minimizing decoherence. Why it matters → decoherence is one of the biggest technical challenges in quantum computing today. Overcoming it requires extreme isolation, ultra‑cold temperatures, sophisticated error correction, and better hardware design. Put simply, this is the main obstacle standing between today and a future where quantum computing delivers real benefits.
