As a student of literature, one of my favorite reads has been Shakespeare’s tragedies as it make sense of life’s absurdities. Today’s interview was a textbook example of a story full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Today’s interview was a total embarrassment to say the least I still can’t believe that Jeff was airlifted from Nairobi to Juba, lodged in a five-star hotel for five days, and treated to a private plane tour of Boma National Park all at taxpayers’ expense only to deliver a 10 minute interview that produced zero tangible information. Far from helping Mzee in the run up to the elections, this interview has done the opposite. There was a huge disconnect between the questions Jeff was asking and the answers mzee was giving. Many viewers will now openly question the president’s mental faculties and his capacity to lead. Those closest to the president know he has grown increasingly frail and struggles with speech. Why on earth did they push him into an interview with a regional media outlet, fully aware of his challenges? Was the real goal to subject him to public ridicule so that they can quietly advance a retirement agenda? Whoever conceived this idea is not only an enemy of President Kiir but an enemy of South Sudan. They should be relieved of their duties first thing tomorrow morning for subjecting His Excellency and the entire nation to such embarrassment!

The law ONLY allows alliance or coalition building or any sort of political arrangements and MoU between South Sudanese Political Parties ONLY. By the grace of God, I've officially defended my master's thesis and been awarded a Master degree in Human Rights and Public Freedoms from the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Marrakech.

Happy to meet an elder and friend, Amb. Chol Ajongo Mawut, the immediate former Minister in the Office of the President who graciously invited me for lunch. I am grateful for the advice and wisdom he shared with me. Amb. Ajongo is a distinguished gentleman of unblemished integrity with an outstanding track record in diplomacy and public service.

Hard truth that needs to be said, and I’m going to say it. If you don’t like it, feel free to unfollow or block me. Too often, Junubin are quick to point fingers and criticize. It’s almost like a profession that many have mastered. But at the end of the day, the problem isn’t always the government. Many people are simply ideologically bankrupt. Why are you more committed to criticizing than to being part of the solution; especially on issues you can’t personally fix? How can you be so self-righteous that you believe your criticism alone brings change? Very few South Sudanese appreciate the little that others are doing or encourage them to do even better. Instead, many are quick to criticize without fully understanding the issues they’re talking about. We all need to do better because this is becoming terrible. Yes, our leaders are not doing enough. But what about you? What are you doing for your country besides pointing fingers and criticizing everything? Some of you don’t even have practical skills. You can’t even change a light bulb, yet you’ve become experts at criticizing everyone else. The so-called leaders of tomorrow are, in many cases, more ideologically bankrupt than the very people they criticize. The irony is remarkable.

8 years later, this remains one of my proudest moments. Not because of what I said on the podium that day, but because of how it made me feel and the permanent mark of confidence it left with me.
