Living in Zim means being in survival mode all the time, but you never truly realise how deep you are in survival mode until you leave that country and realise that there's nothing normal in Zimbabwe. Not a single thing.

@Am_Blujay When she says “foreign nationals” does that include caucasians and does she know how many of them own properties in SA, commercial and residential? And is she advocating for confiscation of these without compensation Idi Amin style?

#dandarostreets WATCH: A man attacked over suspicions of being a foreign national has been identified as a South African from Limpopo, exposing deepening tensions around identity and language. The incident reportedly escalated after he failed to respond in Zulu when asked to produce a passport, leading to accusations of being a “kwerekwere” and triggering a violent confrontation captured on video. @NNyashaYessur We Africans must be proud of our chocolate colour. There are plenty of white dudes who say they prefer black, healthy skin, and black dudes too. Why bleach and expose your skin to side effects and infections.

Black people have been brainwashed into thinking that buying cars on credit or instalment is an achievement. I am not jealous but the fact is that a car that you bought with credit is not an achievement. When did debt start to be an achievement?

This idiot is a Zimbabwean traditional leader. They are called chiefs, and in most cases they are controlled by the ruling party, ZANUPF. He is blocking a road because there is a private school that was built many years ago in the community that he presides over, and he wants bribes. Because many of these chiefs live off bribes, they extort and blackmail people so that schools and businesses in their areas can continue to exist. This is one of the reasons other races call us as Africans, uncivilised. It is because of clowns like Chief Murinye. Children were on holiday and are now returning to school, to a boarding school. A traditional leader, who at the centre of everything he does should be encouraging education, is blocking the road so that children who have travelled two, three, even four hundred kilometres away cannot get in and may be forced to return to their homes. This is today’s Zimbabwe. When we talk about the brokenness of our society and the failure to adhere to the rule of law, this is exactly what we are talking about. This is not propaganda. You can see it with your own eyes. He is even threatening to throw snakes into the school grounds if the children go there. In other words, he is fighting against education. I do not understand how a community leader, a traditional leader, a chief, can fight against education. He is telling people that he does not care what Mnangagwa thinks, because Mnangagwa, who is the president of Zimbabwe, knows that he is the chief. He says this because Mnangagwa, his government, and his political party, ZANUPF, have given these chiefs enormous power in return for controlling the population in a way that favours the ruling elite. This is the Zimbabwe that we live in. When racists like Donald Trump call African countries shitholes, this is the kind of behaviour they are talking about. Where else in the world would a traditional leader block public roads? The tragedy is that the most powerful voices in our communities and in our country, the very voices that should be speaking out against this, are also terrified. They are afraid of losing what they see as their access to the feeding trough, so they keep quiet. As a result, an uneducated and delusional character like this chief will continue to exist and abuse power, because the voices in our communities that really matter, the ones that should be speaking out, have chosen silence. And so this is left to journalists and political activists to talk, and we can talk until kingdom come. But as a country, if we do not reflect on how this damages us as a nation, how it damages our reputation, how it shapes how other races see us, and how Zimbabwe is perceived in general, then we are doomed. We are truly doomed. No one will take seriously a country in which a traditional chief is given the power to stop children from going back to school, to deny them an education, and to block the building of a better society. The police are there, watching and doing nothing. They are powerless because their authority has been stripped away by ZANUPF’s political patronage system, which has emboldened these chiefs to commit illegal acts with impunity.

@GodPenuel Don’t you think that some South Africans commit crimes because foreigners are taking their jobs? Then, in desperation, they resort to crime to feed their families. Do you also know the current statistics on foreigners?

Zimbabweans, Malawians, Mozambicans, etc... ...are exactly like Zulus, Xhosas, Sothos, etc. They all flock to cities that are major economic hubs, to get a better life, & make money. The only difference is colonial borders & their cost of labour. Both groups come from places with weak leaders & weak economies. I really find it hard to fault illegal foreigners who are in South Africa to work hard, for a better life... while we have SAn criminals who are useless citizens.
