Amid the simmering tension between #Kuki and #Naga groups over the missing persons after May 13 ambush in #Manipur, hundreds of trucks carrying goods and passenger buses remained stranded on National Highway-2 for the sixth consecutive day on Monday. Security sources said that about 300 goods-laden trucks and nearly 700 passengers are stranded in the ongoing deadlock, @manojananda writes.

The crisis began after an ambush on May 13 in which three church leaders belonging to the Thadou tribe were killed. Assam: Prime accused in the Nagaon Morikolong Dacoity-Murder case, Rajibur Rahman, was severely injured after the police van carrying him met with a road accident. Both his legs are suspected to be badly damaged. Rajibur and four others robbed the house of Dr Ranjit Saikia and Ruprekha Bhuyan. They brutally assaulted the couple. Ruprekha was severely injured and remained in coma for 16 days before succumbing to her injuries. “She left behind her young son, who cries in her memory,” her husband said, expressing satisfaction over the incident and his firm belief that God will deliver justice.
