We are deeply saddened at the passing of Professor Gary Okihiro. Gary was a teacher, mentor, activist, and friend to several generations of scholars. He was a beloved and vital presence in the building of our Association and of the field itself. aaastudies.org/announcements/…

At long last, publication day is here: my religious biography of Tina Turner is released today! It feels surreal; at the same time, it feels right that the book is released six months after she joined the ancestors in the realm she called “the beyond.” 🕊️
