Lawsuit details:
Apple has alleged that OpenAI:
-Stole IP in a "coordinated effort"
-Coached departing Apple employees on how to evade security processes
-Directed job candidates from Apple to bring internal parts/components to interviews
-Misled business partners to believe they had permission to use Apple's metal finishing techniques
-Asked Apple employees to divulge company secrets in interviews with former Apple VP Tang Tan (currently Chief Hardware Officer at OpenAI)
This comes as OpenAI is expected to announce hardware products in the future. Sam Altman had said their first prototype was complete last November.
IO Products is also named in the lawsuit, headed by former Apple designer Jony Ive.
Apple is seeking a court order / injunction barring OpenAI from using any Apple trade secrets, as well as monetary damages and the return of any Apple property taken by former employees. $AAPL
