@sulco I remapped the shortcut to forward/back (MB4/5) because I found expanding the selction pretty useless. But maybe I should revisit that, could be useful for multi-cursor editing...
Does Emmet: Balance work in non-web files?
🌶️ Ok, here's a vscode take:
These small action buttons all throughout the UI?
I kinda don't care for them 99% of the time.
How about we only show them on hover – just like we already do with the file explorer ones?
@BenjaminPasero@code Also, I'm not sure I love the wording on the "Copy to New Window" action, because a "new window" (ctrl + shift + n) so far always was an independent window, that could contain any workspace and have a different profile...
🙌 the latest @code release allows you to move editors into floating windows.
Each window can contain as many editors as you like in a powerful grid layout.
@adamwathan Maybe they're simply not trying to build such styling? The original framework was built with a very specific design system in mind, after all 🤔
Curious what the recommended way to handle a hover state like this would be with StyleX, since they explicitly forbid styling based on parent hover.
Use JS to detect pointerEnter/pointerLeave on the parent and set some state that you use to change the text color?
@sulco@code I see. And I know the feeling, even vertical tabs won't save me from scrolling 🙃
I wish there was a proper ctrl+p for tabs, but so far I haven't found a good workflow...
@chaphasilor@code Oh, I know that, but a browser is the only other app I'm using on mac where the idea of tabs is so prevalent – and as one of the people who has >20 tabs opened at any given time, ctrl+tab is not practical for me here :p
@chaphasilor@code I know 🫢
The thing is, afaik, while ctrl+tab is a standard thing on windows it's not common on mac, so I guess I kinda never stumbled upon it
Get ready to spice up your visuals with Tabler Illustrations! 😍 You can paint the town with your favorite colors, give those illustrations a summer tan, and switch between day and night themes.🌞🌚
I can hardly contain my excitement for the grand reveal of this project! 🌈😎🎉
@sulco Well the concept is nice, I just don't like the editing experience. Being able to move the cursor on top of a character feels super weird. But I have ligatures enabled in the console, since I usually don't edit there
🌶️ The actual unpopular opinion:
I really, really like ligatures.
One visual symbol for one meaning.
≥, ≠, and such is also how I wrote this stuff when I learnt logic (i.e. math for years and years, in school), so it looks really natural to me.
Would you like to customise the @code Activity Bar by placing it on top of the Side Bar to get more space for coding?
Simply move Activity Bar -> Top
This is available from our next release but you can try this already in our insiders - code.visualstudio.com/insiders
