This is exactly how the Book of Acts describes worship. We need to do this in America. Protestants would finally see what the Bible means.

@Mr_Husky1 (also, each year in January, there is a required minimum distributions from Investments of that size. So it’s not like you’d be sitting there with nothing to add to your household budget as you move forward!)

Depends on how much Monet we’re talking about. If more than 750K, you should get a money manager with real authority to be your executor, to manage the investment(s), and live off the interest. If it’s less than 750K then it’s something you can do together, don’t sweat it…. though you could say, “you manage 50%, and I’ll manage 50%.”

I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. Now he’s saying that before we get married, I should put the entire inheritance into a joint account so we can “start fresh together,” or he doesn’t think we should go through with the wedding. I’m 36 already and this is something my family worked hard to leave me. I’m torn between wanting to build a life together and feeling like I’m being pressured to give up something important to me. What do you think I should do? By isitmeaitah

@Sachinettiyil Add a little “saved by faith & belief & trust in Jesus alone” teaching, and you got yourself an actual Catholic communion. Also you don’t need to invoke saints when there is one Mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus our Lord.

Should Lutherans take note of this and adjust accordingly or not?

Pope Leo XIV received representatives of the International Association of Exorcists (AIE) in a private audience on Friday, March 13. They presented a report on the growing prevalence of cases related to occultism, esotericism, and Satanism, and the spiritual consequences they believe this has for many people. During the meeting, the Association asked the Pontiff to ensure that every diocese in the world has one or more adequately trained exorcist priests. The request concerns not only the number of exorcists, but above all their preparation: seminary training, specific programs for new bishops, and clear discernment criteria for addressing particularly delicate pastoral situations. According to Father Francesco Bamonte, Vice President of the AIE, ignoring these phenomena leaves many faithful without an adequate response to grave spiritual suffering, sometimes pushing them toward inappropriate solutions. This is why exorcists insist on the need for serious, prudent, and Gospel-based pastoral care. During the audience, the Pope was also presented with the book Guidelines for the Ministry of Exorcism, along with an image of Saint Michael the Archangel from the sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo. Leo XIV also recalled his past acquaintance with and appreciation for Father Gabriele Amorth, founder of the International Association of Exorcists. Discover more at ewtnvatican.com

I have seen the pattern time and time again. If you become Lutheran because you think the liturgy is cool, but have no root in Lutheran doctrine, and have never experienced a crisis of conscience, or tasted the sweetness that free justification brings, you will end up going elsewhere. I love the historic liturgy, but I love it because it forms the people of God through the Gospel it delivers. I worry that some today mix this up and love the liturgy purely for its aesthetic function. While this is a right and good benefit of "high church" worship, it is not its heart. You may find a more ornate liturgy in a local Anglo-Catholic, Greek Orthodox, or Traditionalist Roman Catholic parish than in your local Confessional Lutheran congregation. But you will not find the Gospel proclaimed and exalted as highly as it is within the Lutheran church. Would I like to see Lutherans have both Gospel-centrality and strong historical liturgical practice? Of course! But if your pastor is not quite as precise as you'd like him to be in his liturgical postures, or cannot chant, this does not in any way negate the beauty of the Gospel which is present in that parish, nor is it an excuse to negate your confirmation vows because you found a prettier service elsewhere.

AMEN!! THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS. I have recently been in another round of talks with my stripe of Christians, explaining that the quotation of Psalm 22 from the cross does not mean the Father truly forsook Jesus…actually the opposite, that Jesus is trusting God perfectly to deliver Him.

The Trinity was not ruptured at the cross. Father, Son, and Spirit were united in the act of atonement. Keeping this in view guards against many theological errors!
