When meeting @swfc fans I’ve been most moved by the countless numbers who’ve shared going to games with their dads and now taking their sons and daughters to the games in the same spirit passing on their families legacies. One young lady I’d say in her early 20’s stopped me on the street to thank me yes but to let me know she was a 6th generation Wednesdayite. 6th generation!! I marvel at this, tells me so much about Wednesday, Sheffield … it’s very moving! Thanks to all our fans, let me add a special thanks for our multigenerational ones. David continues to do amazing things across a very broad spectrum… executive team buildout, squad rebuild, Hillsborough safety + so much more, training grounds improvements… all geared to 1 ) improving our competitive performance on the pitch while 2) creating the most safe and enjoyable environment for you, our fans to watch, enjoy and cheer on our boys in their new kits ( more to come ). @swfc we are rebuilding off of a rich history… starts with embracing our history. We have a deep and proud heritage 159 years in the making . We only succeed if we bring back the glory ! I’m so proud to be affiliated with this club and community. Hats off to @SWFCTrust for transitioning from fighters to builders. Their efforts to selflessly raise money for those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend games is so heartwarming and reassuring. And I’m very proud of the club for stepping up and supporting the effort. The entire community should give itself a collective pat on the back for pitching in to make this such a successful and meaningful drive. 🚨🦉 Important Announcement🦉🚨 A new friend of Sheffield Wednesday and the Supporters Trust, who prefers to remain anonymous, has been incredibly impressed by the outpouring of support for the effort to raise money for this important cause and has made an incredibly generous pledge to match every gift, up to £35,000 raised by supporters towards this effort. We’re currently on £27,910, meaning we need to raise the final £7,090 to unlock the full £35,000 contribution. If we do, a £35,000 supporter-led campaign becomes a £70,000 investment in Sheffield Wednesday supporters and young people across our community. That means more season tickets, more match tickets, more mascot experiences, more shirts, and the chance to reach even more children who dream of being part of Sheffield Wednesday but may never otherwise get the opportunity. It means creating memories with parents, grandparents and friends that will last a lifetime, helping young people feel connected to their club, their city and their community. The donor has recognised just how important family and community are in Sheffield, and wants to help open the door for the next generation of Wednesdayites. The donor recognised something we’ve all seen: when Wednesdayites are given the chance to help one another, they step forward. Although still basking in the glow from our dream like Saturday, this past week was one of rolling up our sleeves and going to work in preparation for the summer and beyond. David B, @michaelestorch and I met with the leadership team advancing our plans for the training pitch, summer training schedule for the squad, spent time assessing current squad, addressed multiple work plans for Hillsborough, starting with critical safety items work beginning this Monday and more. Our countdown till start of Cup series is 91 calendar days . Lots to do in short window but the team led by David Bruce is committed to do so. We will keep you updated on our progress. There seems to be a lot of confusion on the SWFC zero point ruling when comparing to the zero points Derby also received. Both Clubs paid/are paying 25p in the £ to unsecured creditors. Derby’s owner completely wrote his debt off. The Wednesday owner was made a sizeable offer. Derby paid 25p in the £ and left the tax man owed £10’s of millions (EFL Insolvency Policy directs 100p - discretion shown). Wednesday are paying off all owed (100p in the £) to HMRC. I’m struggling to square why some feel Wednesday should get more than Derby got for exiting Administration when the shortfall to creditors is so much less in the case of SWFC? Furthermore, the shortfall against EFL Insolvency Policy is also much less in the case of SWFC.

Wanted to take some time to reflect on a day I’ve been dreaming of for months. Saturday was perfect. Will never be able to express how grateful I am for the warm welcome the @SWFC fans gave my family and me. The sun shone down on our wonderful club on Saturday. It was the experience of a lifetime to enjoy the moment with you all…. To share our new crest designed by the incredible local agency Peter and Paul…. To share the news that after an incredible collaborative effort between my team, the @EFL and BTG we will start next season on zero points!…. To introduce you to our incredible new CEO, David Bruce…. And to witness over 30,000 of my newest friends singing for 99 minutes straight as our Owls closed out such a difficult season with a win. I’d like to further highlight how grateful I am to the @EFL for their diligence and approach in working with us to ratify all issues and achieve our target of closing by 1 May. It takes a village; but without the commitment and tenacity of Asher Simons, Clive Betts MP and James Silverwood in particular, we would not be where we are today. It’s been an extremely emotional 48 hours for me after a long process, but now the focus is already completely on action. We are proceeding ahead immediately on all fronts and we will update you, the fans, as we go. You are the reason Michael and I are here, the reason we have fallen in love with this city and this club. We will do everything in our power to ensure we don’t let you down. David #wawaw #uto #swfc
