Leaders who Sleep Well Lead Well Leaders often seek the next productivity hack. Don't overlook the one God built into your biology. Sleep helps you make wise decisions, control emotions, and relate better. Your leadership tomorrow is shaped by how well you sleep tonight

To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders. Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man. Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners. Long may your admirable country dominate the world. Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states. May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning. Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill. Thank God for the USA. Happy 250th. Dr. Jordan B. Sometimes the body is tired, but the mind refuses to sleep. Psalm 4:8 reminds us that rest is rooted in trust: “In peace I will lie down and sleep…” Neuroscience calls it cognitive arousal. Scripture calls us back to peace. A quiet heart helps prepare a sleeping brain.

How do you handle rejection? Rejection hurts because our brains process social rejection much like physical pain. But rejection doesn't have to define us. Moses, Jeremiah, Paul and Jesus faced it. Stay faithful. A person's "no" doesn't determine God's calling on your life.

Is Sleep a Luxury, or a Design Feature. Psalm 127:2 says God “grants sleep to those he loves.” Neuroscience shows sleep restores the brain systems tied to judgment, patience, and wise decisions. Rest is not wasted time. It is receiving God’s care.

Fatigue is not always failure. Often it is a reminder that you are a creature, not the Creator. God designed the body to need rest. Sleep restores the brain, steadies emotion, and reminds us to trust God with what we cannot hold together overnight. #Sleep #insomnia

Want better sleep? Start with your wake-up time. A fairly consistent wake time helps stabilize your body clock. And when sleep gets irregular, attention, memory, creativity, and emotional control often suffer. Simple habits matter. #Sleep #insomnia

Your brain takes out the trash while you sleep. Deep sleep helps clear metabolic waste, restore attention, and regulate emotion. Psalm 4:8 says, “In peace I will lie down and sleep…” Sleep is not just rest. It is nightly restoration. God is awake. You can sleep.

Sleep is not laziness. Psalm 127:2 says God “grants sleep to those he loves.” Neuroscience shows that chronic hurry keeps the brain on alert through stress chemistry and rumination. Spiritually, sleep says: “God is awake, so I don’t have to be.” Rest is trust.

Better sleep often starts with a consistent wake-up time, not just an earlier bedtime. Your brain’s circadian clock loves rhythm. Morning light + a steady wake time can improve alertness by day and sleep by night. God designed us with rhythms for a reason. #Sleep #insomnia

Poor sleep doesn’t just make you tired. It often makes you more reactive. When sleep is short, patience shrinks, impulses rise, and small frustrations feel bigger. That’s not only spiritual. It’s neurological. A rested mind is often a steadier mind. James 1:19 #Sleep #anxiety
