58 years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Georgia’s greatest son, was taken from us in a violent act of hate. His legacy lives on in the work we do to build his beloved community and to bend the moral arc of the universe towards justice.

I am honored and humbled by the NBJ Lifetime Achievement Award and especially by the incredible comments offered by so many in recent days. Thank you to my family for their constant support and sometimes searing humor.
