gonna focus on making fun monster mechanics first, then stitch the lore to it all somehow

This opens up obsessive questions like:
- Which way should the doors be placed in each room?
- If it opens outward, how will the player collide with the door?
- If it only opens inward, what's the point of modelling the other side?
😵💫
i guess it should be random but still ughh

I have a bad habit of worrying about silly details Such as this door having two different sides for push and pull... 🙃 Even the hinges are placed "realistically" 😔 #gamedev #indiegame #blender3d #modeling

@noinodev @Phantom_TheGame I feel like this is obvious but I guess not for everyone.
At the same time, if you need to ship a product fast, you won't have time to study things in-depth regardless.
English

@charmicoz @Phantom_TheGame software design, graphics programming, resource management, probably everything you can think of. learning whats underneath abstractions makes you better at using the abstractions too.
English

@noinodev @Phantom_TheGame What does this mean? Better and faster in what?
English

@Phantom_TheGame working directly with a graphics api will make you better and faster with or without an engine, but most engine-only users only use the abstractions, which will inhibit that. knowing more > knowing less, especially if its a career objective.

@SebAaltonen Soo, you mean there could be empty slots inside the shape, is that it?
English

This reminds me of some impostor rendering tech. Z-buffers are stored from all axis-aligned directions.
Due to occlusion, you can't reconstruct a perfect 3d shape from depth images unless the shape is convex from those directions. The below question can't be answered.

How many cubes are on the trailer?
