@typesfast And if it drags into weeks then containers piling up at ports will lead to shortage of containers worldwide leading to spike in container rates. And once situation cools off it will take weeks to return to normal shipping.

To see exactly which ocean container services are disrupted by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz visit Jebel Ali port on Flexport Atlas and look at the list of services calling there. Jebel Ali in Dubai is the 9th largest container port in the world. Each of the container services calling there has now been disrupted. We will be updating Flexport Atlas with more information on how each of these services is being rerouted in the coming days as that information becomes available. Some carriers have already ceased accepting bookings bound for ports inside the strait. Others are still accepting bookings for now, and dropping the containers at other ports en route. For example Hapag Lloyd is planning to leave boxes bound for the gulf ports in Oman until the strait reopens. As containers pile up at ports around the world expect congestion to build in those ports. If this continues for a prolonged period, we will see bottlenecks appear in unexpected places, impacting transit times, reliability and price on trade lanes that on the surface do not seem like they should be impacted by the crisis in the Gulf. atlas.flexport.com/oceanport/id:b…

A simple advice to millions of youngsters in India who have taken to investing in the last decade: Never mix your political views with finance. The capitalists in this country play all sides. Never fall for fear mongering and propaganda using short term trends. Stay invested long term. Especially in India's growth. You can't go wrong. For example, just to rebut this post below, if you had invested in 2014 when Modi became PM, by 2024 you would have gained a return of a whopping 275% from the Indian stock market. And this is excluding dividends. Even in US dollar terms (accounting for depreciation of the rupee) you would have got a world beating return of 170%.

Too good roasting.
Iceland Cricket@icelandcricket

Dear @ICC, It is with a heavy heart that we now announce our unavailability to replace Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Regardless of whether they now withdraw, the short timescales ensure it is impossible for our squad to prepare in the professional manner necessary to compete effectively in this global cricketing spectacle. We are not like Scotland and able to turn up on a whim, with no kit sponsor. Our players are from all walks of life and cannot simply drop their occupations to fly halfway around the world to experience temperatures only normally felt in Finnish saunas. Our captain, a professional baker, needs to attend to his oven, our ship captain needs to steer his vessel, and our bankers need to go bankrupt (again). This is the harsh reality of cricket at the amateur level of the game. This news will be extremely disappointing to our fans. Despite being the most peaceful nation on Earth, we maintain an army of online followers, and are the world's 14th most followed national board on X. We were ready to give the Dutch the biggest shock they have experienced since William of Orange lost the Battle of Landen in 1693. And the Americans were looking forward to taking on Greenland, or so their orange-dyed leader thought. Our loss is likely Uganda's gain. We wish them well. Their kits cannot be missed unless you have epilepsy, in which case they are probably best avoided. The future is always ice, until it isn't. Yours sincerely, Icelandic Cricket Association

🚨 RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN ANGRY ON GAUTAM GAMBHIR 🚨 Interviewer 🗣️: “Under Rahul Dravid, Arshdeep Singh played nearly 85% of the matches, but under Gautam Gambhir, he hasn’t even played half of that.” R Ashwin Said 🗣️: “It’s not about how much he played under Rahul bhai or how much he’s playing now. The real question is, what is he thinking now? A player who has done so much for the team suddenly isn’t in the XI. When he gets the next opportunity, he will definitely be rusty. Cricket is a game of confidence. Believe me, I’ve been in that situation, I know exactly how it feels.” #RavichandanAshwin #GautamGambhir

I went to the Tesla showroom yesterday in my city and found it empty.. to my surprise they are also offering some discounts !! Has this car completely failed in India ? Is it because at this price point (60-75L) there are no self driving folks ?

@Hanumavihari How long will that one hundred sustain his story. After that he has hardly made an impact even in IPL. He is being included in the squad but not in the XI. His bowling is like that of a top order batsmen and his batting is like that of a premier bowler.

Can you tell me anyone else in the country who is at the level of Nitish who can bat and bowl seam? And he’s 22. You call a 22 year old “bits and pieces” cricketer!? Write him off just like that? The overs bowled by him in different formats FYI : ODI 3 matches - 7 overs T20’s 4 matches - 9 overs 3 wickets at 7.88 eco( 45 avg with the bat) Tests 10 matches - 86 overs - 8 wickets (60 sr) which isn’t bad for a 4th seamer. He got a 100 in Melbourne, which many can only dream. Like you & Me.
Kushan Sarkar@kushansarkar

Cant agree more. Nitish Reddy at best is an idea of an all rounder not the real one. He is an exact definition of bits and pieces cricketer

@EXM7777 It feels great, then overuse happens turning it into junk, then system gets reset and true usage emerges. AI is at the end of the feels great stage now enteting into overuse stage. E.g. recent Grok photo morphing controversy.

the AI bubble will accidentally trigger a human renaissance here's what will happen between now and 2030: phase 1 (2026-2027): > everyone automates everything > productivity goes through the roof > we celebrate never having to think again phase 2 (2028-2029): > mass digital burnout > people realize they've outsourced their cognitive abilities > depression rates spike because nothing feels earned anymore phase 3 (2030+): > the pendulum swings hard in the opposite direction > outdoor experiences become the new luxury > manual skills and human connection become premium > we start valuing struggle and effort again the faster we rush toward full automation, the faster we'll crave what makes us fundamentally human that's what i'm hoping for anyway

@DealsDhamaka Buy from local shop and any minor repairs will be handled then and there. Once trust is established you get at home service or can be done over the phone while the child (if he is older enough) can get the repair done at the shop.

A friend went bicycle shopping for his kid: - BSA: ₹6,000 (with all accessories) - Decathlon: ₹7,000 (cycle only), ₹10,000 (with accessories) - TATA Stryder: ₹7,000 (with accessories) He used to be a big Decathlon fan, but now feels it’s overpriced, ended up choosing TATA Stryder.

A deeply held assumption is rapid integration equals discipline and control. On the contrary premature structural and operational changes often erode the local advantage for which premium was paid. chaithinks.substack.com/p/operational-…
