OPEN: Routine checks have confirmed the following roads are open as at 8.00am: 👉Cooks Tooth Road 👉Wimbledon Road 👉Elsthorpe Road 👉Pourerere Road 👉Farm Road 👉Patterson Road 👉Middleton Road

👉 Wakarara Road - surface flooding at 3km west of SH50 👉 Wakarara Road - surface flooding 200m from Pendle Hill Road 👉 Whangaehu Road at 1.3km from Cooks Tooth Road Dropout – one lane available

Weather update 8:00am 24 Sept: ROAD CLOSURES: ⚠️ Herrick Street is closed due to Flooding at Tayors/Mackies Slab due to flooding detour via Taylors, SH50 and Bridge Street, OngaOnga ⚠️ Hiranui Road at Porangahau Road Detour via Te Awa Road/Farm Road/Moutere Road

👉 Pourerere Road between Titoki Road and Long Range Road has been reopened but is down to one lane at the slip site. This may close again at short notice 👉 Pukeora Scenic Road - Small slip at 1.3km from SH2 East end 👉 River Road 4.8 km from Elsthorpe Road – Surface flooding

👉 Kahuranaki Road 6.1km from Elsthorpe Road– Slump full road width. Has been topped up to make it easier to traverse. 👉 Ngahape Road - Small slip near Braeview Road – exact location to be confirmed. 👉 Ongaonga Road at 8.5km from Waipawa – Surface flooding

Update 6:30am, 24 Sept 2022: ROAD CLOSED - Skippers Road is closed at the 4.447km mark due to a tree blocking the road. We're working to remove the tree this morning.

Call 0800 4 HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49) to report any issues on the State Highway. We have had reports of flooding and small slips on State Highway 50 and State Highway 2. Stay safe Central Hawke's Bay!

Update 6pm, 23 September 2022: At this stage we have no reports of **new** damage, slips or road closures. We're aware that this could change quickly, and also that damage caused by the sodden conditions could lie submerged for days or even weeks, so we're staying alert.
