🚨 MKP Ground Forces Update – 18 May 2026 Briefing
Comrades and Ground Forces,
Today, 18 May 2026, President Jacob Zuma and the National Officials of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party addressed the nation and provided clear, decisive leadership ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
Key outcomes from the briefing:
🟢:The recent statement issued by the MK Party Institute has been declared null and void. It does not represent the official position or decisions of the Party leadership.
🟢 :The MK Party Institute will now fall directly under the office of the Secretary General to ensure proper coordination, accountability, and revolutionary discipline.
🟢 :Cde Sifiso Mahlangu has been appointed as the new National Spokesperson of the Party, replacing Cde Nhlamulo Ndhlela.
These steps form part of our broader organisational renewal and ideological reorientation. We are not an ordinary political party we are a liberation movement committed to restoring the dignity of our people, advancing African sovereignty, fighting corruption, and delivering real service delivery.
Comrades, the time for action is now. No businesspeople or opportunists will be paraded as ward councillors. We want genuine servants of the people — disciplined, conscious cadres who come from the communities they will serve.
To every MKP ground force across the country:
Stay united, stay disciplined, and intensify your work. Deepen political education in your branches, recruit new members, engage communities door-to-door, and expose the failures of the current local governments.
This is our moment. The people are tired of empty promises. They are ready for real change. On election day, vote uMkhonto weSizwe (MKP) in every ward and every municipality. Let us take back our towns, cities, and villages and build the South Africa our heroes and heroines sacrificed for.

Today I had a very constructive meeting with former President Jacob Zuma in Durban. We discussed issues such as the value of mother tongue education, the promotion of mutual recognition and respect between cultural communities, agricultural development in traditional communities, and Section 235 of the South African Constitution. More meetings will follow. As a civil society organisation @afriforum remains outside of party politics. We are working for the next generation rather than the next election. In securing a better future for the next generation, we are committed to engaging with all stakeholders in South Africa, even though we may differ on certain issues. We are committed to helping find solutions to the challenges the country and all its people face.
