A mother walks into her community health center ,only to find broken beds and no proper care. This is the reality in many PHCs across Nigeria. But knowledge is power. As a community leader, you can drive change when you have access to the truth.

Dear @officialspbo In Jan 2025, Mr. Effiong Bassey of Ikot Inwang PHC, Bakassi, Cross River, arrived at work to find the lab burgled. A digital BP monitor was stolen. The thief used a long stick, dragged the table to the window, took the device, and left stones in its place. This isn’t just a break-in—it’s a breach of community trust and a threat to life-saving care. We must : Secure all PHC facilities with proper fencing, window bars, and locks. Ensure community health workers are supported with surveillance tools. Allocate budget for infrastructure and security, not just equipment. Empower communities to protect their health centres. Our frontline facilities deserve protection. This a front line investigative report by @Agent471989 for @checkmyphc project. Exposed!!! Dear @official_SPBO Many PHCs in Cross River lack basic security. Ikot Inwang PHC was looted during #EndSARS—beds, drugs, toilets stolen. Only chairs & tables replaced. Wards shut, roof leaks, no toilets, stream water only. Security lapses remain a real threat. Act now! We call on the residents of Ikot Inwang to protect their PHC and work together to prevent further vandalism. This facility is vital for your health and community wellbeing. Dear Dr. @Muyi_Aina, As the Executive Director/CEO of @NphcdaNG (National Primary Health Care Development Agency), you recently shared that 991 Primary Healthcare Centres have been revived across Nigeria. This is a commendable step, and we believe such progress should be matched with transparency. We respectfully request that you direct the Agency to publish the full list of these renovated centres. Nigerians deserve to know where these facilities are located and whether they are truly functional and accessible to the communities they’re meant to serve. This is not about politics—it’s about the health and well-being of everyday Nigerians. We are ready to support efforts to monitor and verify these centres. Please share the list so we can all work together to ensure they are delivering care where it’s needed most. We hope to hear from you. Thank you.

A day without power in a primary health center isn't just inconvenient—it's dangerous. No light. No fan. No backup. Vaccines spoil. Babies delivered in darkness. Lives at risk. Power in healthcare isn't a luxury. It's a lifeline. #PrimaryHealthCare #Nigeria #Fixourphcs

Dear H. E @officialspbo, This is Abuekpo-Mpam Health Centre in Ogoja, Cross River State. This phc suffers from severe neglect, lacking essential medical equipment and facilities. The centre is run by only one Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW), who struggles to care for the entire community alone. The Unsung Heroes ; A Day in the Life of a PHC Worker in Nigeria. In rural Nigeria, PHC workers are the heartbeat of their communities. With limited tools, no power, and long hours, they deliver babies, treat illnesses, and offer hope—day in, day out. They are the real MVPs. It’s time we see them, support them, and celebrate them. #Fixourphcs #PHC #Nigeria
