Does anybody else have a TV guilty pleasure? Mine is “The Last Detective” with Peter Davison who is brilliant in the lead role. I’ve just watched an episode with guest stars Anthony Valentine, John Shrapnel, Camille Coduri and Roger Daltrey - and Sean Hughes. It’s quality!

So it’s farewell to the “Press & Journal” after more than 10 years and hence into retirement and a wee break. I laughed at several references in this “front page”, but it reminded me how many people have helped and encouraged me. Thanks to them all. And here’s to the future!

@cheekacat @PaulEmbery The whole movie is a gem and needs watching many times, as each run through finds more to see and hear. Almost a remake of 'Airplane' set 2000 years in the past. So many funny scenes. Try this one :

My word. This is incredible. A real-life version of that scene from The Life of Brian: "Stan, you haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!"

@PaulEmbery That is such a good analogy, it deserves context for the 5 people on X who haven't seen Life of Brian. Here is the whole scene, since the Trans ridicule is quite devastating.

A Long Shot I found this pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses lying in the kerb just off Woodlands Road - they're very strong so must be prescription glasses which can be expensive I suspect the chances of finding the owner via X are very small, but here goes nothing! Photo below

@cheekacat @agf1052 My point wasn’t the actor it was how they dropped that part of the story altogether and only made more questions come up

Y’know I still can’t figure Jodie out, and I’m just getting…a bit confused as to where they’re taking this character? #Corrie

@pjc7221 @agf1052 The actor who played their dad in that brief scene is an excellent actor and I think he will be back.

@agf1052 Where is Shona’s dad? Didn’t she go to see him in the hospital? One would think as she’s become a new mom that there would be more story there that leads into Jodie’s. But it’s like both sisters are “fec’ off” to him

@agf1052 Well in true soap tradition she will start as a baddy and end up a reformed character if the public like her if not she is toast
