Muthu ji, your political views are your own - but please do speed up the returns on my investments. 😃
Muthukrishnan Dhandapani@dmuthuk

Not going to share any personal details. Just want to highlight how perception is different from reality. This is not to support any political party or leader. Want to let you know things are not as they look. In 2013, my client who was professionally working for Rahul Gandhi suggested my name to him to handle his mutual fund investments. From 2013, when UPA 2 was in power to till date when Vijay was sworn in with Congress support, Rahul continues to be my client for mutual fund investments. We have exchanged many mails and has spoken over phone lot of times. And as you are aware, I've been a strong Modi supporter from 2014 to 2024. Never once Rahul or his office staff brought that subject to me. I believe my tweets are regularly seen by his staff. They clearly differentiate between my professional service and political beliefs. And in every single conversation I've with Rahul, he addresses me with respect and never behaved in any haughty manner. Despite knowing my BJP support, he took my input few years ago for choosing a key professional . This post may lead to Rahul terminating our professional relationship. That's ok. Everything should end one day. Wanted to post this to show how main stream media and IT cells of parties can make someone look completely inhuman. I do not know Rahul Gandhi as a politician. Based on last 14 years interaction, all I can say is he respect professionals a lot and a nice human being to interact with. Don't go by media or IT cells - for any party that matter.

Now that Vijay has got the support of 118 MLAs, the Governor is going to send him back to do KYC, get copies of their Aadhaar cards and PAN cards, and get a small video from each confirming their consent (file size < 5MB).

Zero violence for the first time in the history of elections, particularly in West Bengal. Not even a single death in political violence. No booth capturing. No rigging. Record breaking turnout. No controversy around 'missing EVMs', papertrail or VVPAT. Seamless transparent process and real time live data reporting in all five states. In short, of that's the job, then yes, Election Commission has won hands down.

@cheesebiryani this dmk good governance thing is also a pr myth honestly, except maybe industrial development there has been no great improvement in the state and moreover safety concerns, law and order issues have all increased greatly so it's not like voting for dmk is an intellectual move.

As much as this tn election shows the issue of hero worship & lack of political awareness in the state, it's atleast a welcome sign that there are voters who are voting for a particular party which offered them no money. Time for the duopoly of Dmk and Admk to end.

People shouldn't be so surprised about Vijay's voteshare in TN. This is not the first time Indians have punished a party for high GDP growth and the corruption that comes along with it, and voted for an actor instead.

I’m genuinely astonished by this Exit Poll "Methodology". "Face-to-face interviews using Electronic Device", "Representative sampling", "44,460 sample", "96 surveyors" and awkwardly "16 Innova cars, 16,447 km" are not methodologies. Real methodology would detail: • Precise multi-stage stratified random sampling frame & selection protocol • Randomisation method at household & respondent level • Interviewer training, supervision & inter-coder reliability • Back-checking, data validation & quality control mechanisms • Weighting matrix, non-response adjustment & post-stratification • Handling of design effects & calculation of margins of error What shared here is a travel log dressed up in academic jargon. Science deserves better. #ThisIsNotMethodology

Dear Sir, The two thirds members of the Rajya Sabha belonging to the Aam Aadmi Party who have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, even upon a public declaration to that effect, do not satisfy the constitutional requirements of a valid “merger” under Paragraph 4 of the Tenth Schedule. The scheme of the Constitution, particularly after the deletion of the provision relating to split, recognises merger as a limited exception which mandates a merger of the original political party itself, and not merely a shift in allegiance by members of the legislature party. The Constitution Bench in Subhash Desai v. Principal Secretary, Governor of Maharashtra has authoritatively clarified that the legislature party and the political party are distinct entities, and that a numerical majority of legislators cannot, by itself, claim to represent the political party or effect a merger on its behalf. In the absence of any material indicating a merger of the organisational structure of the Aam Aadmi Party with the Bharatiya Janata Party, the defence under Paragraph 4 is not attracted. In other words - "The defence of merger is available only when the original political party merges with another political party and not when there is merely a split in the legislature party.....A claim of merger cannot be founded merely on the numerical strength of the legislature party." In such circumstances, the act of joining another political party constitutes “voluntarily giving up membership” within the meaning of Paragraph 2(1)(a) of the Tenth Schedule, as consistently interpreted in Ravi S Naik v Union of India and Rajendra Singh Rana v. Swami Prasad Maurya. The constitutional consequence of such conduct is disqualification, irrespective of the existence of a formal resignation. Accordingly, the concerned members incur disqualification upon such conduct and are liable to be declared disqualified, the adjudicatory determination by the Chairman under Paragraph 6 of the Tenth Schedule being a formal recognition of an already incurred constitutional consequence. The plea of merger, founded solely on numerical strength within the legislature party, is therefore legally unsustainable. Also, the Supreme Court in Keisham Meghachandra Singh v. The Hon’ble Speaker, Manipur Legislative Assembly held that the Speaker should ordinarily decide disqualification petitions within three months, except in rare and exceptional circumstances. This was reiterated and strengthened in Subhash Desai v. Principal Secretary, Governor of Maharashtra, where the Court emphasised that delays defeat the very purpose of the Tenth Schedule. Therefore the Vice President - RS Chairman should decide this within 3 months of the complaint filed by the AAP. Also, Do Note - if the Chairman fails to do so, as done in the Ravinder Singh Rana v Swami Prasad Maurya, the Supreme Court itself can also direct for their immediate disqualification. No one can save Raghav Chadda because like a fool he said it in public.
