@RaphealDavis3 It’s already pricing out the middle class. The pay to play model that we have is pricing out working class and poor folks. Combine that with the cost to attending sporting events at all levels, and sports in this country is becoming something for the rich only.

Youth Basketball is a Middle Class Sport
Kraig Bowers@kraigbowers34

After my weekend in St. Louis, I’m convinced AAU sports is primarily driven as an excuse for suburban parents to have drinking buddies every weekend for however long a season lasts. Lots of them at our hotel this weekend. To @RaphealDavis3’s point about youth sports being priced out of budget to many, this group was joking about one parent out of the entire group having a public school child. I’m worried the opportunity to get training and quality recruitment opportunities is going to be priced out of many family budgets.

I think I’m done watching Chelsea for a while. It doesn’t matter who the players or manager are, until we have some competence with the ownership group they aren’t winning anything.

@RaphealDavis3 Purdue alum here, this is also true for the big schools too. I may or may not have seen it during my time in West Lafayette.

Saying NIL killed the mid majors is lazy. Dudes have been getting paid long before NIL came around.

@FrankKhalidUK It doesn’t matter. We could poach Pep from City and results would still be the same.

Purdue plays on Friday in St Louis. My phone tells me it is a 5-hour drive. Hopefully tickets are reasonable.

@GameDayGabi About as good of a path to the Elite 8 as you can get. That said, there are no easy ones. Boiler up!

My thoughts on the Big Ten championship game: Chances Purdue wins 10% Chances Purdue keeps it close 40% Chances Michigan wins comfortably 50% I want to see Purdue win, but Michigan is really good.

@RaphealDavis3 It’s also interesting when the winning starts some “fans” get real quiet. Did they ever really support the team, or do they just like to complain?

How is it that Purdue still didn’t know how to defend the perimeter? 🤦‍♂️

@lady_valor_07 Always buy good quality shoes even if there are cheaper options available. Your ankles, knees, hips, and back will thank you later in life.

@JJWatt 0%. I’m done playing this game. I tip well at sit-down restaurants, but when there is minimal service, and the staff isn’t being paid below minimum wage, then I’m not tipping.

Genuine question on a restaurant situation: You walk up to a counter to order. You find your own table and seat yourself. If you order coffee, they hand you a cup and you go fill it up yourself. If you order food, they hand you a buzzer and when it goes off, you go pick it up yourself. The iPad has a “20%, 25%, 30%, Other” tip option, with 20% already preselected. What’s your move?

This Purdue team is a real head scratcher. Honestly, they shouldn’t even bother with the Big Ten Tournament or the NCAA tournament.
