People are claiming the league was bought because of how the goals went down against Orbit College at Mbombela Stadium. Pirates didn't even have to put a single ball into the net themselves to win 2-0!
Goal 1 (44th Min): Sabelo Nkomo tried to punch a corner away and spectacularly punched it directly into his own net.
Goal 2 (48th Min): Former Pirates player Ndumiso Ngiba tried to clear the ball but toe-poked an own goal right over his own keeper.
It looked incredibly suspicious and completely obvious to rivals, but it was just pure, unfiltered final-day panic from a team that got officially relegated because of those exact defensive disasters.
THE PUNCH OF DESTINY:
A corner was swung deep into the box. Under mild pressure from Thalente Mbatha, instead of punching the ball out to safety, Sabelo Nkomo perfectly directed a powerful punch straight into his own net from the edge of the six-yard box! 🤦♂️💀
