As part of the celebrations, the Ministry of Tourism organized a panel discussion on “Rethinking Roots: The Rise of India’s Forgotten Food Culture”.
The session brought together Ms. Marryam H. Reshii, Senior Journalist; Dr. Chef Gautam Chaudhary, EC Member IFTO; Ms. Rushina M. Ghildiyal; Ms. Yogita Uchil; Dr. Susanta Ranjan Chaini; and Mr. Amin Ali, Senior Journalist, to reflect on India’s evolving food culture.
The discussion explored how GI-tagged ingredients, heirloom grains, and traditional recipes are making a comeback — blending innovation, cultural pride, and economic opportunity while reshaping India’s culinary identity and sparking local economies.
