Craft is erotic.

there's a lot of sex in my craft book, is that normal? like, sexuality, sure, yes. but also just a lot of talking about sex. in these craft essays lol

and then the next day you cut the paragraph.

editing is so funny because you really can make something worse and then you have to trace back your steps and it's like oh i shouldn't have changed this whole paragraph, just these two sentences.

craft is letting the poem get unwieldy, letting yourself say what you didn’t think you would or could. craft is letting yourself get unwieldy, then delete, delete, delete, then weld together what’s left, what’s still tingling and trembling after your four-thousandth read

craft is writing badly, terribly, shittily, then less so

last online film thought from me for now: OBAA has really grown on me. i didn't dislike it but i think i wasn't in the right headspace when i first watched it. but i appreciate it the more i think about it and i just want to say that it's okay to take your time to form an opinion

and you won't develop your own taste, your own opinions, without watching or reading things. without experiencing them yourself. and without reflecting on them (outside of posting). i thought this was obvious lol

i feel like there's a lot of effort being put into having the 'right' or 'cool' taste in movies (or tv or books etc.) instead of putting effort into developing your own taste. one that will remain interesting and meaningful to you. and one that will keep expanding as you grow

and i love all that absurdity right alongside earnest emotion, unabashed joy, total tenderness

oh and i still love EEAAO. i mean of course. i love whimsy, absurdity, too muchness, gaysians, family stories

mostly trying to stay out of film discourse (lol) but i was very moved by hamnet, especially jessie buckley's performance and the connection to (or longing for) a kind of wildness

unfortunately being boiled alive in the shower is essential to my mental health
