@menongautham Godspeed. No creative person deserves the hell you have been through. But you sure will set an example for people by just staying afloat and eventually redeeming yourself.

If the trends hold, then BJP in TN will learn a lesson from Vijay and TVK. It will be a case of "if only" they had stayed on the track and played the long game building from Annamalai's momentum and just gritting it through and through. Vijay's electoral debut will also put to rest any notions one might have about TN's mediascape. It is by and large dominated by pro DMK journalists, so much so that they will even put to shame the party's spokespersons when it comes to speaking about the party's line. Vijay has shown that he doesn't need the airwaves support. There is much to disagree with Vijay at this point, but we have to concede that he is rank newcomer and, with time, will learn to adapt. But he has shown possibly the first spark in many decades that a serious challenger can emerge here. Also a good time to remember Vijayakanth and his own debut, which TVK's debut might outshine. But Vijayakanth's courage to take on electoral politics with both MK and JJ around was something else. It's going to be a very interesting Monday one way or the other.

I have never believed in "merit" the way you believe it. Your notion of merit is to have ultra-competitive exams and we pick the "best" performers. Zoho Schools of Learning has never worked that way. That has been true for 22 years. This has nothing to do with politics for me. I fundamemtally reject competitive examinations as the approach to find talent. In order to avoid the politics of reservation, the best course is to open a lot of colleges so finding a seat is never hard. That happened in TN and is starting to happen all over India, even in medical education. But college itself is not the be all and end all. We have to promote a lot of private sector investment in skill development. This is part of private sector investment in R&D. We spend a lot of resources on these in Zoho. It works.

Exit polls feel like an eat-what-you-like buffet. Depending on your political preference, you can pick an exit poll and feel good until results day. As far as TN goes, even if you look at the EP that offer him least number of seats, TVK and Vijay seem set for a stellar electoral debut. #ExitPoll

I foresee a day when IPL will be played with bowling machines and teams fielding 12 batsmen. Might as well retire bowling as a profession in T20s.

We fell in love, though, with this editorial isometric look. It struck the right balance between readability and depicting ideas in a way that HTML never could

To get to the Flipbook visual style you see here, we had to go through literally hundreds of iterations. Here are some of my favorite in thread

Imagine every pixel on your screen, streamed live directly from a model. No HTML, no layout engine, no code. Just exactly what you want to see. @eddiejiao_obj, @drewocarr and I built a prototype to see how this could actually work, and set out to make it real. We're calling it Flipbook. (1/5)

@eddiejiao_obj Remarkable. And great articulation about productisation too. A quick callback here to "The Billion Dollar Code" series that shows how the Berlin hacker scene in 1990s set the stage for bold experiments without commercialisation pressures. Really cool interactive blog.

I've been putting together an interactive blog post tracing the process by which new ideas in technology become entire categories of products. A lot of what we take for granted as the end goal of computing / transport / interactivity can be traced back to new concepts first imagined in research labs half a century ago.

Wow. This is pretty incredible stuff. Completely mind blown. Try out their flip book portal - I typed in something on the search bar something we are working on and the results feel magical.

Claude Design is mind blowing. Whatever demos I have seen on YouTube are absolutely gobsmacking good. Just waiting for my pro license. Takes me back to journalism days when I would think of ideas but couldn’t execute them because CMS was too rigid and had guardrails that really were restrictive. But today tools are so democratised and easily available there are zero excuses for not creating immersive interactive pages online.

"Don't judge a book by its movie," they say. But I have just bought "Project Hail Mary" by @andyweirauthor after watching and loving the movie. My first fiction book in many, many years, and I am hoping to dig into it. Thanks from bringing me back to fiction.

78 of 26 is kind of impossible even in book cricket. It’s going to be hard to keep Vaibhav off the national squad. Whose door is that going to shut is the only question.

I am getting spammed by an automated cold call campaign on who I am voting for in Villivakkam constituency. Serious abuse of tele marketing. Any idea which genius is running the campaign?

Rough start for CSK no doubt, but I still think we can field a much better playing XI and make a fight out of this season. Samson, Mhatre, Rutu, Brevis, Dube, Sarfaraz, Overton, Akeal, Khaleel, Gurjanpreet and Noor Ahmed | Impact subs: MSD, Prashant Veer, Anshul and Ramakrishna Ghosh. Also, Dube must bowl 1 or 2 overs after power play. Looks like CSK leadership needs to reimagine itself a little. Tactically there is a void - understandable given MSD was that all-in-one persona for so many years. But the team now just needs to think that he is not going to be in the mix actively, and begin afresh.
