Shocking error from Michael Clarke on @skynews just now. Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon wasn't to take out Hezbollah as he claimed. It was to remove Lebanon's government. Hezbollah didn't exist at that time. It emerged in response to that invasion.

I think what is happening here is that people are back-filling an imagined history from the facts they know (Kashmir is Muslim; India is Hindu; therefore India must have forcibly invaded/annexed Kashmir). Of course, this is doing Hindutva's work for them

This is a silly & false talking point but everyone quoting this with "Kashmir" doesn't know the first thing about the history of Kashmir and should not be taken seriously. It was Pakistan who invaded Kashmir in 1947!

Blatantly violating SC’s NALSA judgment, the government has introduced an amendment that takes away our right to self identity gender and only recognises following persons as trans: intersex, kinner, hijra, aravani and jogta, “eunuch”, or someone forcefully/deceitfully mutilated!
