@usmann1136 I really wish I could find the interview, but it was a when TanPre was officially announced where they have admitted that the current era feels more directionless and they wanted this season to fix that issue within their staff, so I’m hoping they at least deliver

@usmann1136 Yeah, honestly it just really not the same as it used to be, older seasons very much felt like they had everything much more planned out and what they wanted to do, where now it feels like it’s just hard to maintain everything yearly, so they have to work with what they got

Idk about Anna but I loved Mikuru so much during this episode. Either you be plot driven season or character driven one. It's pretty hard to expect both things with such a formulaic format.

Meitantei’s plot is amazing, but I fear Anna & Mikuru are starting to fall flat, which is weird since both characters had such interesting setup and narrative potential/foreshadowing, but it’s not getting covered 😭 they still feel very surface level and it’s almost mid-season

@usmann1136 One problem I do have with general Precure seasons is that during the last quarter, it feels like they do run out of ideas a bit (outside of closing everyone’s character arcs). So if it has come to be, I really do hope that they take advantage of it this time

@usmann1136 But at the same time, I feel like a lot of us has gotten used to the fact we had so many character driven seasons as of late that it is a weird adjustment for them to prioritize the plot over everyone’s agency and writing

@usmann1136 I do hope they do touch on Mikuru more (I honestly think Anna is fine given they have been consistent about her feeling out of place in 1999) because she still has so much to talk about with her dream, the OP having her mom in it, and her grandma having the Jewel Watch

This is both with the Detective Conan crossover (yes it has been seriosukt questioned) and if the TanPre movie does have previous Cures in it, the last one they ESPECIALLY do NOT care about
