@Abigail_Atelier @juliangrenier @SirajIram I hope you manage to stay. It was so bad for me it caused me to have a mental breakdown being pulled in all direction but the right one which was providing the best for the children. I had no choice but to leave for my health. Stay strong and I hope you stay x
English

@cherylleanne89 @juliangrenier @SirajIram Having a very similar experience myself, but trying to find ways to stay in EY. It really is heartbreaking.

‘It is not possible to provide the quality of education and childcare needed in a modern nation with poorly paid, undervalued, low-qualified staff in an outsourced, profiteering, market-driven sector.’
Powerful letter from @SirajIram theguardian.com/education/2022…
English

@SirajIram @juliangrenier It is very wrong. I always said I would stick with EY until I couldn’t and over the years it changed so badly you couldn’t support the children like you used to. I left, my heart broke I’m now a TA in an SEN school. Best choice I made but sad as EY was my passion. Have a good day

@AdrianBethune I always say to my young men. Keep a piece of paper in your bag and if you feel then need to draw draw. Tbh my eldest 15yr old normal does it on his planner or spelling book. They have ADHD and epilepsy both dyslexic so drawing helps in many ways. Art is a good escape.
English

@cherylleanne89 Excellent. I turned to art during a tricky period in my life. Think my love of art and drawing came from primary where we did lots.

Can you share in a tweet the name of a teacher who inspired you and why you still remember them?
What was special about them? How have they positively shaped the course of your life?
For something I'm about to write 🙏🏽 #edutwitter #UKEdChat

@AdrianBethune In so many random ways yes. I became a Early Years Educator and did art in many creative ways with 0-5s. I have 2 SEN young men who draw and create. I find I draw to calm my anxiety. I have just applied to be a TA for a SEN school so hoping to bring it in there too.
English

@AdrianBethune Thank you. Looking back for sure she kept me alive. Her death was in the local papers and people where mean. The school weren’t supportive kept me in isolation but she took me to her art class and I stayed there until I was mentally ok again. Best art teacher ever x

@cherylleanne89 Really sorry to hear about your mum. But so glad you had Ms Chapman by your side. ❤️
English

@AdrianBethune Ms Aukcart in primary helped me as I was poor at spelling (now we know dyslexia)and I would get bullied for it. Ms Chapman was an art teacher who utterly saved my life when my mum was murdered and I lost myself she kept me going and alive in every sense. Teachers are important
English

@AdrianBethune I have 2 in primary Ms Aukcart and in high school Ms Chapman. Both left long lasting impact in my life during horrendous times.
