S'pore has already made some strides in this area - biofuels are widely used in the maritime sector, sustainable aviation fuel has been rolled out on all SIA flights, and our sewage waste/food waste will be turned into biogas w the new Tuas Nexus Facility from 2025.

NEW: S'pore is looking into the wider adoption of biofuels & sustainable bioresources to hit its net zero target by 2050. The Govt looking into more sources & types of biofuels - both locally & internationally from up to 8 countries. straitstimes.com/singapore/s-po…

One key requirement would be the ability of these structures to withstand extreme weather events like extreme heat, coastal surges, and possible debris from intense rainfall etc throughout its lifespan!

So there will soon be a code of practice for coastal protection infrastructure, where certain standards have to be implemented for structures like sea walls, dykes, tidal gates etc. straitstimes.com/singapore/pub-…
