@anishgiri Man, app is lil buggy, on iphone 13 Pro am using, when click on next move button.

Arjun rarely plays the Petroff, but if you check his latest games with my ChessMonitor app, you would see that he last did it just 10 days ago. Hard to imagine that it came as a surprise. Download the app, I guess.

Candidates prep requires a team, massive resources and above all a lot of time. Winning the Candidates, it appears, requires more than that, I don't know. Beating the Candidates winner in blitz requires 10 mins of prep. 10 mins of prep is best spent with my ChessMonitor app.

@anishgiri @chessmonitor I think I found a bug too. If you click through your games and try another line then the one you played, you cannot return to the line played in the game. The moves you try are replacing the game. Is it something I do wrong or is it a bug?

In order to avoid theory, one must know theory. Here with 8...h5!? Fabiano took the game into the uncharted territory and was eventually able to outplay his young talented opponent. As you see, the prep can now be done on your phone, thanks to our ChessMonitor app.

@adjorno @anishgiri What we could do is to include Stockfish without (NNUE) weights and load the weights later. That's how the Lichess app does it. But this is just delaying the download and regarding UX you cannot start the engine immediately but are instead waiting for a download on first use..

@adjorno @anishgiri I don't know how that program works, but in general desktop apps work differently. Most don't include the engines and you have to install it yourself and then the engine is launched in a separate process. But that's not how apps work.

@adjorno @anishgiri Most of that is the latest Stockfish 18 engine which is included to analyze games. The weights alone make up about 110MB. (Thomas/developer here)
