Year 5 have had a brilliant last day in the sunshine! Yey! ☀️ Rock climbing, scrambling and orienteering activities have kept them on their toes and pushed their limits! We are on our way home now. 🚌

Year 5 have also been making dens this afternoon, to help them shelter from the wind! Some great teamwork and determination on display! @WESTLAKESADV

Today was a really chilly day! It has meant a change of activities, but Year 5 are still having lots of fun! Canoeing, making bread on a fire, walking and team games! @WESTLAKESADV

Year 5 have had a brilliant first day on their residential, visiting @MuncasterCastle before a walk through the Eskdale Valley to get to @YHAEskdale!

Today we have been so pleased to welcome back former pupil Jack Hawitt for workshops with students in preparation for our upcoming school show ‘We Will Rock You’. Jack performed in the West End cast of the musical so having him work with the students was inspirational. Thank you!

Last week was our ‘Very Merry Chetwynde Christmas’ show featuring children from years 3-11. It was a new event to our school calendar and the children performed brilliantly! Well done everyone🎄🎅🏼🎶

We’ve had a wonderful “History Day” in Primary. Year 5 made Mayan masks and tasted Mayan hot chocolate. #ChooseChetwynde

Year 6 had a fantastic time at @DockMuseum yesterday learning about Victorian Barrow. A massive thank you to Barbara for showing us around and answering all of our questions. #localhistory #thevictorians

This afternoon we welcome @chet_primary to the #Museum for a tour about Barrow during the Victorian times. Have a great time and we look forward to seeing the photographs @BarrowCouncil

Reception class have been enjoying ordering numbers this week. Wonderful counting skills and number recognition! #earlyyears #receptionclass #maths

Reception class also had a visit from PCSOs Louise and Andy this week. The children had great fun trying on the uniform (especially the hats!) and then exploring the police van. Thank you @barrowpolice for visiting!

Reception have had a fun week with our visitors, linking into our theme ‘People Who Help Us.’ Personnel from Barrow Fire Station came and talked about fire safety, before the children had a go with the hose and getting in the fire engine. Thank you to the crew for a great visit!

Year4 spent their DT lesson baking biscuits. Super teamwork with delicious results. 🍪
