@MarkUrban01 It's weird how I expected James Burke, Cliff Michelmore, Reginald Turnbull and Patrick Moore to be providing commentary and analysis last night. After all, it's only been ....oh, 50+ years.
English

Burke popularised space travel and is still in many ways still unsurpassed as an explainer of science. And this is great (I’ve RT’d it before) … but it is two shots not one, it cuts 25 sec before the end, making it easier to achieve

James Burke's perfectly timed shot on television in 1978 is hailed as one of “The Greatest Shot In Television History”

@LUDENClassics It looks glorious inside, but from the outside not so much. Did the work experience student draw the external styling?

⚠️ BEWARE: A growing number of accounts I follow have been hacked over the last 24 hours or so - some well before that. Separately, my DM’s are filling up with “please vote for me at this link” messages from followers I communicate with. This is a fishing expedition and an attempt to steal your data. Do not click on any links - even if friendly accounts are sending them. Please share and get the message out. Thank you.

@GretelleMaitre I might have to investigate that one, No1, presumably at the mini roundabout end?

@PrfChrisPainter I keep wondering what it is about the oil rich country of Iran that so requires USA involvement.

@NickBryantNY Wow, she's not messing around. Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned, as they say.

@GretelleMaitre Excellent, I shall add Cheese Week to my lexicon of unusual expressions. Along with towsing, etc.
English

@GretelleMaitre Goodness, I traipsed all around here for Geog A level field trip, about 500 years ago. I thought it looked familiar.

@BBCLookEast Just in case 2026 wasn't bad enough already they are bringing us this.

@SlenderSherbet The beaver has better table manners than lots of people I know.

@PrfChrisPainter It's hard to disagree, but to me the vanilla is less unpalatable than the derangement; I come here hoping to be educated by wise people, not driven to screaming pitch!
English

@chevington Bluesky seems very vanilla; this platform is deranged.

@Motor_Sport But we have livery reveals, aren't they fabulous? (No, btw - a fatuous waste of resources)

🗣️ "By closing its first test, #F1 is taking a step back from the very transparency that has helped expand its global appeal."
Is F1 making a mistake by holding its first 2026 test behind closed doors?
