To every political leader and journalist making and writing speeches: You can't save Navalny. You *can* still save Assange. If you're silent here, when and where you can actually influence the outcome, you were never standing up for principles—you were just hoping for applause.
Edward Snowden@Snowden

The outrageous part of the UK's years-long "trial" to condemn Julian Assange to die in an American dungeon is that the victim of his "crime" (journalism) is a state rather than a person—the definition of a political offense, which the US-UK extradition treaty explicitly forbids.

I was invited to speak at Web Summit last year and they put me on the main stage to defend cryptocurrencies for 20 minutes against two people who basically called everyone in our industry criminals. This year they offered me a panel for 45 minutes to repeat the experience. I was considering going to talk about synthetic biology through a fireside chat, but now I guess the event is in free fall over the founder's political comments. I don't understand why everything has to become a political spectical. I also don't understand why events want to focus on debates and shallow fights. The magic of technology conferences is suppose to be the wonder of a better tomorrow, great ideas being showcased, and new experiences. Not asking your speakers to explain why they aren't criminals or now make attending a political statement. I hate war. I come from a country that has been at war for my entire adult life. I'm surrounded by people impacted by these wars. I don't want every experience and event to be a referendum on which ones are just or which enemies are ok to kill. I just want to promote a world where we collectively stop having wars and love each other. Humanity deserves better. I'm going to spend my time somewhere else and with people who value the ideas. So I'll be hosting a five hour AMA instead and you're all free to join.

“€11 trillion in the banking system can freely flow like water onto a blockchain, and then to any chain, and then back into the banking system,” @monerium CTO and co-founder @gislik told Decrypt. decrypt.co/152383/fintech…

I wish @DeroProject would realize we're on the same side. Since they don't, I'll re-iterate that they do not, in fact, have homomorphic encryption in their chain despite their claims. Meanwhile, @SecretNetwork has just added that ability for real. Will announce next week. See a smart contract example using homomorphic encryption here: github.com/scrtlabs/unsto… For the avid reader - this is NOT fully homomorphic encryption, which is a much, much bigger challenge (and one with 1000x the impact). Still, even partial homomorphic encryption on-chain has a lot of use-cases!

$SCRT was never a "privacy coin". SCRT was just making fools of it's users from day 1.

Corporations have recognized the market value of aligning themselves with social justice issues, and have therefore taken up these causes as part of their brand and marketing strategies. Sometimes going as far as using their power to silence dissent and enforce conformity
