@HistoryAthletic J.C. Him was the long-time trainer for Gamecock athletics. Former Gamecock great Lou Sossamon gave me a picture of himself and J.C that I included on Page 190 of my book on Steve Wadiak.

Came across this from 1944 Gamecock FB team. Remember reading the first black player to play football at USC was Jackie Brown 1970. Not sure if he was first to start or was the first on the team. This team photo from 1944 FB team shows black player (J.C. Him) in first row.

@chambleebrandel The day after Bill Haas won the Fed Ex Cup in 2011 he honored his commitment to attend a fund raising charity golf event in Spartanburg, SC. For every group playing, Bill hit a tee shot on the 9th hole. Pure class.

Not that we need any more reason to love and laud Max Homa, but two days after he wins his 6th PGA Tour event he shows up at a municipal course in Phoenix to play a weekly skins game. This is grass roots stuff and the essence of why most of us love this game.

1946-1949 Harry Parone was captain of Gamecock baseball team and was named All- Southern Conference as an outfielder. Harry Parone later was an outstanding coach at Dentsville High School where he was HC in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track along with being AD/Teacher.

@HistoryAthletic 32 isn’t Gary Gregor. It’s Earl Lovelace. After the first 9 games of the 64-65 season Gary was declared academically ineligible. This game is at home in the Fieldhouse and was played in February of 1965. Duke player shooting is future Baltimore Bullet star Jack Marin.

Does anyone know of a business or an individual that has the ability to transfer an 8 Track Tape to a CD or USB? I have an 8 Track Tape with the last seven minutes of the USC/UNC ACC Championship Basketball Game from March 13, 1971.
