But here’s the truth many fear to say: Financial help is not ownership. It is not an investment in your voice. It does not erase your right to think, to speak, or to stand for what’s right. Yes, gratitude is noble. Yes, we should never forget those who lifted us in our low moments. But gratitude should never translate to bondage.
