@chiefnarx @susuajoke This is not true. It did exist. They would put spiritual meaning to the darkest people. Especially in tribes where the shade of the population tended towards lighter.

I’ve been begging for this book to be filmed but I will not be watching it. One of the biggest strains Amari faces within her family is that she’s the darkest. Her mum actively shames her for it too. Her brother is much lighter. Therefore the casting doesn’t make sense.
