One of the unique privileges in academia is being a visiting professor. In October 2024, I had the honor of being the Wilkins VP @MGHSurgery . Soon after Grand Rounds, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, and Radiology coordinated an amazing case conference which translated into an official case record of MGH. It’s now published in @NEJM . ALCSI is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our 3rd Annual Lung Cancer Innovation Summit at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from July 10–12, 2026!! This year’s summit will bring together students, clinicians, and leaders in lung cancer screening for a weekend focused on early detection, innovation, and mentorship. The program includes keynote talks on prevention and screening, a distinguished lecture series featuring renowned experts in lung cancer research, a survivorship panel, a surgical skills lab, and accepted oral presentations from our Lung Cancer Innovation Challenge finalists. Students will also have the opportunity to learn more about the college and medical school application process through dedicated workshops from faculty and students at leading institutions and connect with peers across ALCSI chapters. The Summit is FREE for ALCSI members until 5/7/26 (early-bird registration deadline) and open to all interested middle school, high school, and college students!
