I was 24, a student at the University of Jos, when the first major attack struck our city. Twenty-five years later, Jos, and indeed Plateau State is still searching for lasting peace. This is not just a memory for me; it is a responsibility. One of the most important missions my team and I will ever take on is to help secure a future where Jos truly knows peace again.
News Central TV@NewsCentralTV

Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy @bosuntijani says artificial intelligence-powered cameras will be deployed across Plateau State, starting with Jos, to improve security. He adds that similar initiatives have worked in other states to help end the crisis.

Leadership Without Compassion is Not Leadership During his visit to Benue State in June 2025, Bola Ahmed Tinubu stopped at the Government House but did not go to the actual scene where innocent Nigerians lost their lives. Similarly, yesterday in Jos, his engagement ended at the airport instead of at the affected communities. What happened in Plateau yesterday highlights a complete absence of leadership. True leadership requires presence, empathy, compassion, and a willingness to meet people where their pain truly lies. For citizens who have just lost loved ones, homes, and their sense of safety, being addressed from an airport tarmac is profoundly inadequate. This approach exacerbates the sense of abandonment already felt by innocent Nigerians who have endured repeated cycles of violence without meaningful protection or justice. Plateau deserves more than distant words; it requires urgent action and a clear commitment to ending the insecurity that continues to claim innocent lives. In such moments, leadership must not only be visible but also tangible—standing with victims, listening to survivors, and acknowledging the depth of their grief. If we truly desire a better Nigeria, we must demand leadership that is present, responsive, and responsible at all times. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

The current President of Nigeria once walked into a US federal legal process and handed over $460,000. Not voluntarily. A federal judge ordered it. The FBI, DEA and IRS were running a joint investigation into one of the most active white heroin trafficking operations in Chicago. Two Nigerian men were at the center of it. One was arrested mid-transaction, selling white heroin directly to an undercover federal agent. When investigators pulled the financial records apart, the money trail moved in a direction nobody was talking about publicly. It led to bank accounts that had no business being connected to a drug ring. An IRS special agent filed a sworn affidavit in federal court. The statement was clear and the funds sitting in those accounts were proceeds of drug trafficking. The FBI and DEA confirmed the investigation. A federal judge reviewed the evidence and ordered the forfeiture. The account holder never went to trial. Never faced a criminal charge. Never stood in a courtroom as a defendant. He simply settled. Surrendered the $460,000. And walked away clean on paper. He came back to Nigeria. Won the governorship of Lagos State. Then won again. Spent the next two decades as the most powerful unelected force in Nigerian politics. Presidents needed his support to win. Governors did not move without his approval. He decided elections from his living room. Then he ran for president himself. And won. The moment he took office, an American citizen filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit demanding the FBI and DEA release every file they were holding on the case. Every document. Every record. Unredacted. Both agencies refused. They would not even confirm the files existed. Hmmmm. A federal judge reviewed that refusal in 2025 and ruled it was "neither logical nor plausible." She ordered the full files released. Nigeria's presidency issued one public statement in response. "There is nothing new to be revealed." The files are still being processed. The documents are all public record. I have dropped every link to the original court files in the comments. Read them yourself. 💀🇳🇬🇺🇸

There is nothing on earth that will make me leave home as a grieving parent to go to an airport to meet a leader that supposedly came to console me, & then even be asked to stand up while he's talking. It makes absolutely no sense.

Look online: there are pages teaching young men how to text a lady, how to talk to a girl, how to ask her out, how to be confident around women, and how to satisfy a woman. There’s literally a niche educating men on women’s psychology and bodies. But still online, on the other hand, you’ll see a whole niche indoctrinating women into solipsism, detachment, and the worst possible personality - nothing on male psychology or how to be with men. “Women-only gym,” “women’s-only canteen,” “women are not initiators,” “if he doesn’t, don’t blah blah,” “if he cannot, don’t blah blah.” At the end of the day, men learn how to be with women, and women never learn how to be with men. And because the motivation for men to be with women is, majorly and naturally, sexual, men get women, f*ck women, and lose the fog right after that. With that, the woman’s presence - which was never fun but made fun by the man’s pressing need to ejaculate - becomes irritating right after ejaculation. But this becomes a cycle, and it stays a cycle. Because the woman, in that instant, and being naturally allergic to accountability, interprets that event as the man being evil and “just after sex,” and never sees it as her not being fun to be with for any other reason but sex. So next time, with the next guy, she plays harder to get. But men stay educated on how to get women, and they do so. The woman falls again, gets f*cked, and gets the same post-sex attitude from another guy. At that point, she generalizes her experience: “all men are evil and deserve to die.” It never dawns on her to look inward. Naturally, a woman cannot bring herself to reflect and hold herself accountable and, thus, be better. And socially, she’s conditioned to see the responsibility to be better as solely the man’s. So, Men come online and see on their social media feeds stuff like “how to do X with women,” “how to satisfy a woman,” “how to make her fall for you,” and are immediately reminded that they can do better. This is not the same for women. Women stay illiterate on her to be with men. And women complain about men being cold around women. These are the problems.

Leadership Tussle: Nafiu Bala Resigns As ADC Chairman By Funke Ogunlolu The 2023 Gombe governorship candidate and former national deputy chairman of the African democratic congress. Nafiu Bala has tendered his letter of resignation after declaring himself as the interim national chairman of the party. In the letter Addressed to the former national chairman of the party, Ralph Nwosu, Bala stated that his resignation was to pave way for smooth and effective coalition as well as restructuring the party. Bala assured that he is not abandoning the party and ready to serve in any capacity but the former Gombe governorship candidate was silenced on the David Mark-led interim leadership. The announcement came after the official handing over of ADC to the former Senate President and his team by the former national executive committee on Wednesday. During his declaration as the national chairman, Bala had accused Mark-led interim leadership of the ADC of hijacking the party through unconstitutional means and warned of impending legal action to challenge what he described as a “total surrender” of the party’s structure to external political actors. The former deputy national chairman emphasized that the party’s constitution clearly outlines the processes for leadership succession and that, in line with those provisions, he was now assuming the position of interim national chairman. The PDP paid heed to talent. Obasanjo did the same, and that’s how Prof. Soludo, Prof. Akunyili, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, Mallam el-Rufai, etc., became powerful figures in the government of a party they did not belong to. Obasanjo brought members of the ANPP and AD into a Government of National Unity (GNU) in 1999, nominated by their government, and that’s how Bola Ige, a leader in the AD, became the Attorney General and Minister of Justice; the most powerful portfolio in that government held by the opposition. That was the effort and sacrifice the PDP made to keep Nigeria united. Today, if you are not standing on Tinubu's mandate, you dare not come close to government, no matter your goodwill and talent.

When GEJ was deciding on his list of govt appointees. He charged his team to look for Nigerians all over the world doing great things. That's how people like Joe Abah got appointments. These people were actually on LinkedIn looking for the best of us. Result: 6% YoY GDP growth.

The Nigerian Ports Authority, the largest contributor here, projected ₦1.27 trillion in revenue against a total expenditure of ₦1.14 trillion. There's a big gap between the money made and what actually goes into the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF). One point that's become clearer to everyone lately is that the Nigerian economy is punching below its weight. For example, Lomé Port has overtaken Lagos ports as a regional hub. Togo's modernized reforms tripled its capacity, while the Apapa Port lost 30% of its container traffic over five years. In fact, it is estimated that poor management and infrastructure deficits cost Nigeria $7 billion in potential revenue annually.

Bandits operate for 10 hours: "We are monitoring the situation". 5 Nigerians carry a placard for 10 minutes: 100 police officers, 20 Hilux vans, 10 armored tanks and enough teargas to fog up West Africa. It’s clear who the state considers the real enemy. They aren't fighting insecurity; they are fighting our voices.
