This goes for WoS in general btw. The combat also suffers from this. I’m not even saying that Insomniac’s swinging can’t be improved but they should look to 2004 SM2 for that not WoS. That game had the right idea for how physics based swinging should work while still fitting-

This is the scene where Scorpion says “Miss me Spidey?” We get another shot inside the mask where it looks like Peter’s eyes are black (hard to tell). He then proceeds to slam Scorpion into the ground.
