@GrampyJoe1968@lady_valor_07 Maybe use a calculator, GrampyJoe. 15% of 500 is 75 not 55. The govt considers tips to be part of a salary as the servers are paid below minimum wage.
@lady_valor_07 It's a little low, but she still shouldn't have been expecting $120. 15% would have been $55, and that's enough. It's a tip, not a salary.
We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? I just feel like expecting $120 is not realistic.

@SNETCampbell Why does the @BlueJays and Schneider keep #HomerHoffman on as a 'closer' when he continues to bomb? Case in point, yesterday's game at Anaheim Angels. Can the media ask them the question and get a sensible answer?
Hey John Schneider: Since you can’t figure it out, allow me to help.
Rogers is your set-up man. Varland is your closer.
And, since you’re so in love with ‘Homer’ #Hoffman, keep him around to toss batting practice.
Problem solved!! You’re welcome.
#BlueJays#MLB
@RealDonBradshaw Obviously sweet Lou is the hot hand, but what are you going to say when he starts giving up tanks again like he did last year (he will)? Bullpens aren't so simple when the front office doesn't just go out and get a proper closer, because guys typically have peaks and valleys.
@RealDonBradshaw@BlueJays Schneider - good call putting Hoffman in the 8th giving him a 3 run buffer. BUT look how he got the team in trouble - hit 2 batters consecutively and loading the bases! Trust #HomerHoffman to mess up again. Verland is your closer. Keep him there.
@jfy047@ArdenZwelling Why didn't we get Chapman when he was available? @BlueJays just went for the cheapest closer (?) they can get! They had a reasonably good close in Jordan Romano our hometown boy and they let him go. I know he didn't do so well post Toronto but anyone is better than Hoffman!
Jeff Hoffman feels troubles in his last two outings mostly boil down to:
🔘 Slider zone rate — 37.5%
🔘 Splitter zone rate — 22.2%
🔘 1st pitch strike rate — 35.7%
He hasn’t located secondaries for strikes, surrendering early count leverage. Allows hitters to sit on fastballs:
@JHughes681@ArashMadani@EdwardSRogers I agree. The owners should take a more profitable view of the situation here. Rogers s going to lose attendance and viewership! I've already cancelled my TV, Internet with Rogers as all their teams suck!
@ArashMadani This is on @EdwardSRogers. By extending Shapiro he guaranteed Atkins would be extended and Hoffman would remain. Atkins then loses out on Tucker, signs Ponce to a Santander level contract and then Ponce instantly becomes the pitcher version of Santander.
At some point - now - it's required to concede that your process, collaboration and gobbledygook with Hoffamn has been beyond flawed.
A mistake to bring him back this season. How much longer can his failure, and residue of the Rojas HR last October, continue to torment a team?
@ArashMadani Arash, we'd like you to ask Schneider this on live TV. See how stubborn the @BlueJays management is going to be when they're embarrassed on live TV.
@KeeganMatheson Why aren't the sports analysts/press in the Canadian Press asks the difficult questions in post game interview call Schneider out? @BlueJays got lucky in 2025 and reached the World Series and Schneider screws it up with his pitching calls. Lauer will be a better closer than Hoff
John Schneider:
“I know there may be people who don’t want to hear this, but I’ve got a lot of trust and confidence in Jeff Hoffman.”
“If there’s a situation to close out a game, I’ll take Jeff Hoffman.” #BlueJays
@jsbing555@KeeganMatheson@SleeperBlueJays#HomerunHoffman Hoffman has done it again! What will it take for Schneider and the @BlueJays to realize that Hoffman is not meant to be a closer? Schneider tried him in a save situation and he blew it. He tried him in the 8th & he blew it again! What kind of a manager is he?
@KeeganMatheson@SleeperBlueJays A competent manager would have beaten the Dodgers in 5 games at most. This guy is a total fraud. He thinks he is some sort of psychological genius, what he really is is a terrible technician and clueless idiot. Need more players like Lauer to come out and call him out on his BS
@thehazelmae Remember Game 7 of the 2025 World Series? I call him 'HomeRun' Hoffman. Right now he is tied for the most blown saves in 2026! Get rid of him, @BlueJays! He is no good as a closer - maybe a mid-reliever. We need a reliable closer which has been lacking for a number of years.
Jeff Hoffman on blown save:
"I didn't have any command or any stuff tonight.. nothing was going where I wanted it to go, so it was just a battle the entire inning... I'm glad me and Louis (Varland) were able to just get it to the 10th. It could've easily ended in the 9th" (1/2)
@CortesSteve Really! Tell your President to be nicer to Canada. We have been your good neighbor and friend for centuries and you treat us like dirt. You have really bullied us on a personally and on the world stage all these years.
You live next door to the most benevolent and successful neighbor in the history of the world — and you decide to go have a fling with our mortal enemy…really, Canada???
@TPSOperations I reported a lane blockade on my Street before the snow storm parking complaint #18003 at 1.02pm on 25th Jan. Barely 2 mins later at 1.04pm, I was informed that an officer had attended the scene and the complaint has been concluded.
@JeffPassan luckiest team ever in baseball history, i’ve never seen so much luck lead to a ring, this championship for the blue jays is horrible for baseball
The Blue Jays intentionally walked Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with a runner on third and one out.
Bo Bichette hit the next pitch 442 feet out to center field.
Blue Jays lead, 3-0. And Shohei Ohtani is done.
