when my 4-year-old’s daycare held a “lunch with mom” event, every single mom showed up. we all have other jobs, which is why our kids are in daycare but we took off work or actually found a way to get there in the middle of the day. and now, they’re doing an event for the dads … at 6:30 in the evening. it’s a small example, but the double standards are real.

@IvyLawyer95 @itsnwts In my daycare all events are strictly 3 pm - 6 pm regardless of gender of parents. My kid won’t even attend anything g that starts this late even if it was organized. And what is the point of a dad hanging out there alone.

@chinyuta @itsnwts My kids had evening events at their preschools all the time. Yes the teachers were there and they probably got paid overtime. And yes, the Dad events were in the evening and the Mom events were during the day. I hope that has changed.

Replies are so sad. Men chose to think that there is something wrong with women, hope AI is going to make women lose jobs and submit them into dependency. Instead of thinking how to adjust behavior to make women more keen to chose their company vs solitutde.

@CryptoOnly3642 @Noahpinion For example it would be difficult for you to find a male chief accountant in the post USSR countries, it was a female coded profession there. Chief accountants are mostly men in the west. It is in no way a “girl job” only created to increase female workforce participation.

@CryptoOnly3642 @Noahpinion Can you show any data of the massive amount white collar of jobs created specifically for females? There is arbitrary historical gender coding of jobs that differs from country to country and a few blue collar jobs that actually have a gender preference.

@yol_ayola @Vashka Идеала не достигнуть, но очень многое закладывается родителями в первые годы жизни. Конечно у меня есть патриархальные настройки, просто их меньше, чем могло бы быть. У меня сын, и я много внимания уделяю тому, чтобы учить его эмпатии, внимательности, участию в быту и тд.

@yol_ayola @Vashka Не знаю, меня в 90е растили достаточно гендерно нейтрально, и ничего меня не сломало. У меня не было ни одного девчачьего увлечения, я отказывалась носить юбки до 18 лет, родители не делали их этого проблему и поддерживали мои увлечения, этого было достаточно.

Меня за это засрут, но я сама хотела бы выбирать пол ребёнку. Если я хочу девочку, то мальчик мне не нужен и каких-то обязательств перед кем-то у меня нет.

@QueenPans @Vashka Девочки как и мальчики а детстве разные все же, бывают нежные мальчики и безбашенные девочки. Предпочтения иметь нормально, но когда вся семья расстроена из-за пола, риск, что это скажется на том, насколько его будут любить выше, особенно если ребенок будет трудный.
