Chipstone Curator and Director of Research @Retracharas was one of three guest jurors for #Furnished. Jurors chose over 50 pieces by 15 artists whose work examines the contemporary spirit of furniture, design, and functional sculpture. Furnished is now open @SECCAcontempart!

In 1775 a mob of rebellious colonists forced Solomon Stoddard, the owner of this chest and a leading Tory in MA, to “sign a confession and repent” for his loyalty to the Crown. “They act like mad people, tho well for a Mob” noted an ally of Stoddard’s. #July4th #IndependenceDay
