The thing that ‘causes’ autism is procreation. Not paracetamol, not vaccines, not mercury, not parenting, but basically just reproduction. Autism is highly heritable, largely influenced by genetic factors. Autistic people have always existed and will always exist.

👉These EEG metrics may be developed to: - Identify groups of autistic people at risk of declining adaptive function skills and may enable targeted early interventions. - Stratify groups of autistic people in clinical trials, making trials more effective and affordable. 3/3

The metrics worked best for autistic people aged 15-21 years – a key transitional period of development. ⚡️The EEG measures: ✅ Outperformed behavioural predictors of adaptive function ✅ Showed high test-retest reliability ✅ Were associated with brain-volume genes 2/3

📊 Findings: Using a novel approach, we found that most FC occurs with zero-phase-delay, even when artefactual connectivity is likely negligible. Including zero-phase connectivity increased the reliability, convergence with neurobiology and prognostic ability of FC metrics. 5/6
