A few years back, a friend had asked that I accompany him to the one year birthday of his nephew. When the event started, the MC called the Chairman to come to the high table, and it was exactly my full name, middle name and the initial of my surname. Thinking my friend played a fast one on me, I stood up and began to walk to the high table. I was almost there when the MC asked who I was and what I was doing close to the high table. It was at this moment I noticed another person sitting on the seat meant for the chairman. It turned out the chairman and I shared the same first name, middle name and the initial of my last name. The journey back to my seat was like the distance from Lagos to Sokoto. I'd never felt so embarrassed in my life.

In secondary school, I used to run a small “business” selling fancy biros, rulers, pencils, anything fine, I get am 😌 One day, one girl wey no wan agree on price, instead of negotiating like a normal human being, she carry me go report to our teacher. Teacher carry am go meet headmistress, headmistress hand me over to Rev. Sister. For one full week, na advice I dey hear😂 but it didn’t stop me. Fast forward to visiting day. My parents came, I was so excited, being a good child(you know the vibe).😂 Next thing, Rev. Sister shows up at our stand and says she wants to speak to my dad. My dad stands up calmly o… I don’t know what she told him, but next thing, my dad dey run come back 😭 Rev. Sister was even behind him saying “please, calm down…” My mom was like, “what happened??” Before anybody could blink, gbam! 😭 One hot slap landed on my back. I saw stars, beautiful stars. The chicken I was eating flew out of my mouth.😭😂 Before I could recover, tawayi! tawayi! tawayi! Three correct slaps on my face. Premium package. Different levels of blows followed 🤧 Man said, “So I sent you to school and you turned to a business woman? You want to disgrace this family?!” Omo… the way I cried that day ehn, not normal crying. Ugly crying. The kind wey your nose, eyes, will be running 😭😂 Parents, students, everybody saw my full ugly cry face 😂😂😂 That day, my business closed permanently 😭😂
