Since arriving 4 months ago Tina has taught me to see the positive in every situation. To live fully in the moment. Now we are going to have to put into practice… Tina has stage 3 kidney failure and only has between 3-6 months to live at the very best. While she has started looking incredible on the outside some worrying signs popped up recently and the worst has been confirmed over the last week after extensive tests. She is however having the best time and enjoyment she has ever had. Her energy levels are super high and she is a bundle of love. She won’t even take a break from following her humans around. With careful management like a special diet and getting her fluids injected daily (so the kidneys don’t have to work) we can extend her life as much as possible but it is very serious condition. Maybe I’m foolish but I’m looking forward to the coming months. Tina will have the comfiest bed. She’ll stay beside me for all her remaining time and we’ll dream up some gentle adventures and moments for her. All she cares about in life are her human and her tennis balls and she will now have an unlimited supply of those. My role is to be strong, to get her everything she needs, to spoil her. To see sunsets. To have beach trips. To make her feel like exactly what she is…the most special Queen in the world. The last picture here shows Tina 4 months ago. If we hadn’t found her she would be dead by now. Simple as that. Alone and without ever knowing love. Dogs and Tina especially only live in the moment and that’s what we’ll do with Tina. To get to spend time with her, share her journey and make her feel special is an absolute honor. ❤️
