He knew from last season Trusty was fine in either left or right centre half position but seemingly refused to play him. That or he had an injury or falling out no one knew about.

“Within our means”? £77m in the bank, third in the league, and we’ve spent more money on Michael Nicholson’s flight to Bologna than we have on players. Infrastructure? We have no functioning scouting & recruitment department. Whatever we had was scrapped on 5th January as per Shaun Maloney’s press conference yesterday. We have no licence for what is considered a ‘gold standard’ data analysis system, and currently use the same publicly accessible systems as Airdrie. Training facilities? Not even the best in Scotland and our Academy has consistently failed for the best part of two decades, only producing a handful of players who have played 100+ games for Celtic’s first-team. Stadium? The Board inherited this from Fergus McCann’s time at the club and have largely failed to upgrade it in 30 years.

We could have the best analytics, scouting & recruitment department in world football. But then Nicholson & McKay still have to get the deals done. They are simply incapable and shouldn’t be anywhere near Celtic.

If O’Neill wants Maswanhise and Motherwell want £4m, then the deal should already have been done. £4m is peanuts - We paid the same amount for Alan Stubbs 30 years ago. Stop acting like amateurs and get the player signed.
