@TheSportProhet Also isn’t Russian LNG exports like exploding due to the war and the EU reconsidering their cancelled Russian gas contracts? Also, doesn’t this also exacerbate renewable energy adoption for security sake which China effectively owns wholesale?

This theory doesn't work.. First, the U.S. simply doesn’t have the throughput capacity to replace that much global energy flow on long to short term and never will. Second, geography matters more than people admit. The U.S. is separated from the core industrial zones of Europe and East Asia by oceans. t’s time, cost, and vulnerability and at that point China will provided the model for cheap efficient renewable energy in the same amount of time it would take the US to truly built capacity which is a fantasy. Also, for that kind of strategy to “work,” the U.S. would effectively have to accept if not accelerate further deindustrialization at home and the rest of the world to meet demands like were talking about permanent inflationary period in the US to a deflationary period as a consequence of costs rising and demand collapses as faster than prices can rise you get deflation falling prices, falling wages, no capacity job loses like were talking about the great depression.
Richard Medhurst@richimedhurst

Do not be fooled by the ceasefire in Iran. In 90 days, the US have launched an energy blitzkrieg: • Crippled Russia’s oil infrastructure 🇷🇺 • Disrupted 1/3 of China’s oil & LNG 🇨🇳 • Seized the planet’s largest oil fields 🇻🇪 • Seized Syria & Gaza's gas🛢️ This is the birth of the Petrogas-dollar and the Pirate State 🏴‍☠️

How to get laid in 2026: Set Hinge location to Williamsburg/DUMBO or anywhere in Brooklyn Filter: “liberal only” like below (congrats you just unlocked the whole app) Bio must include: therapy, “reading again,” “he/him” pronouns and one fake hobby Match with: septum piercing / 4+ tattoos / tote bag Date plan: $9 matcha + walk in park (say you’re “off alcohol for mental clarity”) Topics to hit: • how exhausting capitalism is • Mamdani mentioned at least 30 times and how good he is • how you “almost moved to Lisbon” • how evil Trump is (don’t overdo it, just nod intensely) • your latest “burnout” despite having a fake email job Close: “I have a record player, wanna come hear this vinyl?”

@TheOmniLiberal This is a perfect example of the ratchet effect in politics. Imagine in 2010 saying that democrats should listen to someone funded by the Koch Brothers and not being laughed out of the room

Wait, I thought you were quoting some non-profit they were running, but you’re quoting them selling services to a Koch-affiliated company (c)3 from their consulting firm? If you’ve ever been paid by any conservative-related company then that disqualifies you from all future political commentary???? When are you going to disclose all of your revenue sources?

@MattBruenig Annoying mechanic. The system worked just fine before. Virtually no games are decided on a single call.

All you need to know about baseball is that reviewing a ball/strike call has quickly become the most exciting game mechanic.

@BigMeanInternet Yes, the strike zone has always been nebulous, w/ catcher framing that boils down to tricking a 100 year old man, held into place by a mafia union, and now we finally have close to an objective zone, using tech used in 20 other sports, but puritans no likey because The Natural

I don't think people understand that they changed the strike zone for the robots. This is a new strike zone. The TV box is real now but it was not real before.

straight up i’ll always have respect for hasan just for dealing with the level of vitriol and harassment that he gets. i get yelled at a lot, nazis post my address and photos of my home, but it’s all still pretty easy to ignore. idk how hasan manages with 10000x the exposure.

I admire Hasan Piker because he broadcasts to elevently billion streamers for a million hours a day and also has the entire DNC establishment constantly saying the worst things about him nonstop and still hasn't gone insane. If one person is mean to me I mope for a week.

Ad Astra remains the best (and most overlooked) space movie of the century. the vast expanse of space reflected within the depth of the human psyche. feels like a world worth saving. dazzling, but never ostentatious. optimistic, but schmaltz-free; never mistaken for "hopecore".

@frd_w_k @bkp6908 @NEETWorldOrder Can you hear yourselves out? You guys are a bunch of dumb lunatics admitting crime and collusion on a theft of sovereignty you don't get a share out of other than a delusion of grandeur. Well your future awaits you: a bunch of Walmart and Home depot greeters, and homeless zombies
