Students in Kashmir were detained and put under house arrest for merely planning a peaceful protest on reservation. But here, open mobilisation with provocative slogans is allowed without consequence? Is this law or selective convenience?

The police state has once again disallowed @MirwaizKashmir from performing Friday prayers and giving the Friday sermon at the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. The BJP regime which is in control of this police state are so consumed by servility that they now fear Muslims supplicating to Allah. Tomorrow is Eid ul Fitr. Muslims from across the Valley will want to pray at Eidgah and mosques throughout the region. These prayers must be allowed. If they disallow it, put leaders (political and religious) under house arrest, then they strip away every pretence of India Constitutional duty they claim to work by.

When spiteful racist language is used to target India and Indians, we get incensed. Yet when the same person resorts to the familiar ‘Islam is evil’ trope, we applaud. And forget that racism and communalism (and casteism) are cut from the same cloth of fear, prejudice, hatred and demonising the ‘other’. Now you know why it became so easy to divide and rule us?! While the NC government is too engrossed inaugurating Tulip Gardens & kicking off marathons an alarming & dismaying development went unnoticed - recently declared JKAS results. Out of 90 selected only 34 account for the Open Merit category. Merit Apartheid continues unabated & unchecked in J&K well over a year after the CM promised to implement findings of a sub committee report & rationalise reservation. Instead they are normalising the gradual elimination of OM aspirants from government jobs completely . Ironically the systematic seclusion & exclusion of OM students is being implemented by a high on power National Conference which promised to rationalise reservation. But is doing the absolute opposite by gutting the dreams & futures of Open Merit students who deserve a fair chance at merit, jobs & dignity of life.

Some fools in J&K Police and administration think that by withdrawing/downgrading my security detail and suspending my Facebook account will stop me from calling out their atrocities. It is laughable! Neither am I fascinated by these petty things nor scared by their absence around me. My Father was Martyred standing for his people. That’s what fascinates me. That’s my course.
