Aha aha aha '650. Unlike the South African Constitution under article 172(2)(a) that suspends the declaration of invalidity of a statute pending confirmation by the Supreme Court, a similar provision does not exist in Kenya' Koome CJ, BBI

Having advocates as mediators defeats the object and purpose of mediation. It essentially converts the entire process of mediation into a pseudo-arbitration proceeding. A mediator is a facilitator. At the end of it, it is the parties who arrive at an agreement.

Kenya Power says it is deducting up to 50% of tokens to recover last-mile connection debt. So a Sh500 token can leave only about Sh250 for actual units.

Boat Inspection in Mbita, Homa Bay and Kendu Bay Engineers from KSL - Kisumu Shipyard specializing in fiber boat construction and maintenance, conducted an inspection tour across Mbita, Homa Bay Town, and Kendu Bay. The exercise led by WOII George Ochieng, they assessed a fleet of boats earmarked for repair and rehabilitation. Upon arrival, they were received by Mr. Michael Omondi, Assistant Director for Fisheries and County Programme Coordinator for the Aquaculture Business Development Programme @ABDP_KENYA. The joint exercise enabled a comprehensive evaluation of the vessels’ structural and operational condition. ✨Output Following the assessment✨ ✅ Technical recommendations and guidelines to inform the rehabilitation process. Their priority was clear: upon rehabilitation, the boats meet required safety and performance standards so that communities relying on fishing and aquaculture can operate sustainably.

Super grateful that my work is being featured by what I consider to be the world's leading AI and law think tank, whose team members have supported me for years now 🙌🏾
Institute for Law & AI (LawAI)@law_ai_

As AI systems take on increasingly autonomous roles, courts will increasingly face a difficult question: How should negligence law respond when AI causes harm? @CecilYongo, Research Affiliate at LawAI, tackles this question in a new research article published by the Journal of Tort Law. Abungu challenges a growing assumption in legal scholarship: that the opacity and unpredictability of AI systems make harmful outcomes inherently unforeseeable. Instead, he argues that these features are often the result of design choices made by AI developers, who prioritize performance over interpretability. The article proposes a clear framework for US courts: • Preserve existing doctrine where foreseeability already supports plaintiffs • Reform duty-foreseeability to advance more categorical, plaintiff-friendly reasoning • Retain fact-sensitive analysis for breach-foreseeability and proximate cause-foreseeability to avoid overreach The result is a more calibrated approach to foreseeability; one that reflects the distinctive risks posed by autonomous AI agents without abandoning negligence law’s core structure. Engineers at KSL - Kisumu Shipyard are currently installing the propeller shaft on MV Chamaunga. MV Chamaunga is a cargo and passenger ferry serving the Mbita - Lwanda Kotieno route. This is a significant step on the vessel’s propulsion system and overall mechanical completion. The installation demonstrates the required technical precision and adherence as per established marine engineering standards. The propeller shaft in a ferry or ship, is responsible for transmitting rotational power from the engine to the propelle. This generates thrust, while maintaining proper alignment of the propulsion system to minimise vibration and wear. #KSLImpacts

@Ndonglaw043 @MichelleOkinyi You might want to read the case of JTO v AP (Namisi J) for the proposition that section 3(5) doesn't apply in the current dispensation.

@choki_man @MichelleOkinyi The provision says any other written law. The assumption you make is dangerous interpretation. Many laws including the Trustees Act is affected by the LSA not marriage Act alone.✅️ The provision cannot be read backwards by any standard

@Ndonglaw043 @MichelleOkinyi It was notwithstanding the Repealed Marriage Act not the 2014 enactment. So 3(5) cured the mischief as that time.

@choki_man @MichelleOkinyi Haha. This is a general assumption. The Supreme Court has settled how to interpret the futuristic and retrospective Language of provisions. Severally. In BBI, Ogentoto & more. S. 3(5) cuts back & forth✅️

@Ndonglaw043 @MichelleOkinyi That's where you go wrong. A law is enacted to correct a present defect not a future defect. That was the intention of section 3(5)- to correct the mischief as at the time of enactment not the future.
